WHO GETS THE FINAL SAY?

You can't crown Him and keep the crown.
Most of us want Jesus to save us. Fewer of us want Him to tell us what to do.
But a King who never gets the final say isn't your King. He's your option.

Sometimes the past still stings.

Simba wanted to dodge the hit. Rafiki wanted him to learn from it. Big difference.

Your past is a classroom, not a couch. You were never meant to live there. Go back long enough to get the lesson, then get up and move. Paul knew his history better than anybody, and he still said, “This one thing I do.” Forget what’s behind. Reach for what’s ahead. Press.

What you went through was real. But it doesn’t get the final word. God does.

So take the lesson. Leave the residue. Press toward the mark.

How many times did you look in the mirror today? You saw something, and you fixed it. So why do we read God's Word, see what needs to change, and walk away the same?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: NO SERVICE AT 4353 S. HAMPTON RD. TOMORROW

Village Disciple Center family and friends, we will NOT be meeting at our church location this Sunday, September 27.

Instead, we're taking church outside. Join us for Church in the Park at Kiest Park, starting at 10AM.

Why? Because church is more than preaching and singing. There's another side of church we can't forget and shouldn't forsake. In Acts 2, the early church devoted themselves to the teaching and to fellowship. They broke bread together, shared life together, and God added to their number daily. Tomorrow is about that side of church: food, fellowship, fun, and the family of God being together in the open air.

And we want YOU there. Whether you've been with us for years or you've never walked through our doors, there's a seat for you. Bring a lawn chair, bring the kids, bring a friend. We'll have plenty to share.
