This summer, we’ll step into the stories of some of the Old Testament’s most compelling kings. Through the lives of leaders like Jehoshaphat, Uzziah, Hezekiah, and Josiah, we’ll discover that while the world measures greatness by power and influence, God measures it by faithfulness to him.
Throughout the series, we’ll see how faithfulness pursues justice, remains humble in success, trusts God in adversity, and responds to his Word. At the same time, we’ll confront the dangers of idolatry, pride, compromise, and self-rule that repeatedly led God’s people astray. These ancient stories reveal both the beauty of devotion and the consequences of turning from God.
Though these kings lived centuries ago, their struggles mirror our own. We still wrestle with control, influence, and the temptation to place other things on the throne of our hearts. As we study their lives, we’ll be challenged to pursue faithfulness in every season and ultimately look to Jesus, the true and better King, whose perfect faithfulness leads, saves, and reigns forever.
