They had it planned out.

Retirement in Michigan.
Time to slow down.
Enjoy life. Travel a little. Rest.

But God had something different in store.

Kevin and Janelle Nehrt never expected to leave retirement behind, but God kept opening and closing doors in ways they didn’t understand at the time.

Then came a visit to a church near their son’s college … and something stirred.

A room full of college students.
A church gathering of 50 people who had moved to plant it.
A mission that felt bigger than comfort.

And suddenly, their retirement plan no longer felt final.

“It was like God was preparing our hearts to put our ‘yes’ on the table.” – Kevin Nehrt

That “yes” led them to West Lafayette, Indiana, and a church plant near Purdue University, where they now spend their retirement serving college students every week.

Janelle leads the kids’ ministry.
Kevin is preparing to serve as an elder.
And together, they are discipling the next generation.

“I believe God is fulfilling His best plan for our lives.” – Kevin Nehrt

This is what it looks like when “retirement” becomes “reassignment.”

And it’s happening because churches are being planted, and because people like you give through .

✨ More than a gift.
It’s a life re-routed for eternal impact.
It’s wisdom poured into the next generation.
It’s the gospel reaching farther than planned. 💙

➡️ God isn’t finished with any season.

Who saw something in you before you saw it in yourself?
Who quietly shaped your faith?
Who changed the trajectory of your life without ever standing on a stage?

For Michael Byrd, it was a woman named Malinda Baker.

When Michael met her in 2005, he just thought she was a high school math teacher with a beautiful voice on the worship team.

But over time, he realized there was something different about her.

It wasn’t her talent that impacted him most.
It was her worship.

Again and again, while choosing songs for church, she would ask one question:

“Is this biblical?”

She taught him that worship wasn’t about performance, emotion, or what God could give them.

It was about adoring God for who He is.

Michael says seeing her authentic love for Jesus changed the rhythm of his heart.

Now, twenty years later, Michael and his wife serve on mission in St. Louis, helping plant churches and share the gospel in communities that desperately need hope.

And when he looks back at how God shaped his life, he says:

“She really was my Annie Armstrong.”

The truth is… so much of gospel impact starts with ordinary people who faithfully pour into others and never realize how far it will reach.

So tell us:

💙 Who was your Annie Armstrong?

🙏 Pray for our missionary of the week, John Heading.

John serves as the state director of Ohio Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, coordinating deployment teams and helping the ministry become more effective in serving those in crisis. As a Southern Baptist Convention–endorsed chaplain, John not only supports his team members spiritually but also engages with local residents, assessing their emotional needs and looking for opportunities to share the gospel.

John said the most rewarding part is seeing people respond—not just to the physical help they receive but to the hope of Christ. “Recently, Amy and her family lost everything in a flood,” he recalled. “By the end of the day, she gave her life to Christ. Her next request was to learn how to follow Him—and for her husband to be saved.”

PRAY John would not just meet the physical needs of people in crisis but also would be sensitive to their spiritual needs.

Saleem & Rahisha Wright
📍 Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania

God is building something in Montgomeryville and across the greater Norristown area.

Saleem and Rahisha Wright are planting Keystone Harvest Church with a clear mission:
to connect people to Jesus, lead them into a real and meaningful relationship with Him, and equip them for life and service.

Because you give, they’re able to step into a region that desperately needs gospel presence.

Pray with us:

🙏 Pray for Saleem and Rahisha, that their marriage and family would be strengthened, unified, and anchored in Jesus in every season of church planting.

🙏 Pray for gospel fruit, that people far from Christ would come to faith and grow into mature disciples.

🙏 Pray for laborers, that God would raise up men and women in the Norristown area who are ready to be equipped and sent into the harvest.

🙏 Pray for Keystone Harvest Church, that it would be a faithful, healthy, multiplying church that serves its community well.

🙏 Pray for open doors, that relationships would form, conversations would happen, and hearts would be ready for the gospel.

Then take a moment and comment: “I’m praying for the harvest” or leave a 🙏, as a way to stand with them.

Some fields are already crowded.
Others are wide open.

This one is ready for harvest. 🌾

Leah spent years searching for peace.

She grew up in the Philippines surrounded by religion, but wanted nothing to do with Christianity. Even after building the life she thought would satisfy her, she woke up every morning carrying a heaviness she couldn’t explain.

One day, while searching online for encouragement, she came across Proverbs 3:5–6.

That moment changed everything.

Through God’s Word, Leah found the hope she had been missing. She gave her life to Christ, was discipled by her church family, and began asking the Lord to use her however He desired.

Today, Leah serves long-term in South Asia — a place where access to the gospel is limited and following Jesus can come with serious cultural and political risks.

She has learned the language.
She is building relationships.
And now local believers are boldly sharing the good news with others.

What started with one woman searching for hope online is now helping unreached people hear the name of Jesus.

Pray for Leah and the local believers serving alongside her.

🙏 Pray for boldness and protection.
🙏 Pray for open hearts.
🙏 Pray for new believers to grow strong in faith.
