GATHER, GROW, GO Sunday is fast approaching! God-willing, every member will be present to be reminded and recommit to our focus, both as a Christian congregation and as individual Christians. Why do we exist? To gather by grace around the gospel of Christ. To grow in faith through the gospel of Christ. To go in love with with the gospel of Christ into our community and world.

On Sunday, in addition to a special service, we will hosting a time of food and fellowship afterwards. Brats, burgers, and hot dogs will be provided. Please bring a dish/dessert or two to share.

THIS SUNDAY at 10:15 AM we will continue to look at 13 Lies Satan Wants You to Believe. This week, we will let God's Word expose and equip us to resist this lie of Satan: "You have to invite Jesus into your heart." Sadly this is a lie of Satan that even many Christians believe. Doing so not only denies God the glory due him, but also leaves those who believe it prone to either over-confidence or despair. Join us as we search God's truth!

JOIN US THIS SUNDAY, AUGUST 30 at 9:00 AM or MONDAY, AUGUST 31 at 6:00 PM for DIVINE SERVICE. God's Word this week will remind us that we are our brother and sister's keeper.

When danger strikes, most people instinctively move away from it. Fire, violence, accidents, and natural disasters trigger a natural desire to find protection and safety. Yet first responders do the opposite. Firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical providers run toward the very scenes others are fleeing. They enter burning buildings, approach violent situations, and kneel beside the injured in chaotic moments. This response is unexpected because it goes against basic human instinct.

Today God calls us to be spiritual first responders when we see people in trouble because they are trapped in sin. Instead of self-preservation and comfort, instead of choosing not to get involved, we choose to serve them and our Lord. We do whatever we can to regain them and restore them. Our motive is the grace of God and his desire for the salvation of all mankind. Like our Savior, we will be determined to seek and save the lost.

Today we bid farewell to Staff Minister Dan K**k and his family who has served at Grace for the past 10 years. Minister Dan accepted a divine call to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Germantown, WI where he will serve as the director of the early child care ministry there. We thank God for Minister Dan's faithful service among us and pray God's blessing on him and family as he begins his work in a new field of ministry and as they transition to their new home.

Join us this SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 at 9:00 AM or MONDAY, AUGUST 10 at 6:00 PM as we continue our summer service series on the Ten Commandments, Ten Words For a Blessed Christian Life This week we will be considering the Eighth Commandment, "You Shall Not Give False Testimony Against Your Neighbor."

What is your most valuable possession? God answers that question for us: “A good name is worth more than great wealth. Respect is worth more than silver and gold” (Proverbs 22:1). Why is a good name, a good reputation worth so much? The reputation we have affects almost everything we do with other people. A good reputation is important because it determines whether people will respect us and trust us. As God’s people, we want people to respect and trust us, especially since we represent him and want people to know his truth. God doesn’t want us to lose our good name, and God doesn’t want us to hurt the good name of others. The Eighth Commandment protects reputations—our own and those of others.
