We had our 2nd weekly Youth night last night!

The Bible Lesson was about Pentecost. Learning the meaning and orgin of Pentecost. We read from Acts chapter 1 & 2. We then talked about the importance of Memorial day and honoring those who serve or have served.🇺🇲🫡

Then everyone enjoyed ice cream with all the toppings! 🍨

The Youth played cup tic-tac-toe! A tic-tac-toe board was taped onto the table, and 2 players took turns sliding their cup to try to get 3 in a row to win!

We then ventured outside to play a Pentecost themed game🔥 One person was the "fire starter" and was marked with a red sticker. They then chased other players to "spread the fire" and tag them with a red sticker. Then those who were tagged would join in on tagging other players! The lesson was to spread the fire like what happened on Pentecost in The Bible!

Youth Night is every Sunday Night 6-7:30PM! Bible Study, Games, Snacks, and more! Every 1st Sunday is Movie night. Ages 12-18. Everyone is welcome to join in!🙏

Yesterday was Pentecost Sunday! 🔥

We had a special speaker during service, Pastor Edward Hopkins! He gave a very inspiring message and played his guitar during service! It was such a treat to have some live music!

Today is Memorial Day 🇺🇲

We thank those who gave their lives up for our country and our everyday freedoms! We also thank those who have served, are actively serving, or will serve. They continue to give the ultimate sacrifice for this country. May God bless everyone 🙏

-Sunday May 31st- Youth Night 6-7:30PM! Everyone is welcome to bring their kids aged 12 to 18! Bible Study, Games, snacks, and more!

LOOKING AHEAD:

-Sunday June 7th- Joint service at Wards Chapel with Crewe UMC 10AM Going away Luncheon for Pastor Denise & Mike Watkins (this will NOT be her last Sunday with us, just a luncheon to show appreciation)✝️

-Sunday June 7th- Youth Night 6-7:30PM! Snacks and movie night! Everyone is welcome to bring their kids aged 12 to 18!

-Saturday June 13th- Alms House Work Day 8-11AM

-Sunday June 21st- Father's Day Pastor Denise Watkins last Sunday✝️

-Sunday July 5th- New preacher will be starting (More details to come as they are found out)✝️

-Vacation Bible School- July 27th-31st Monday-Friday 6-8:15pm Nightly
VBS early registration will open June 1st

*REMINDERS*

-We are starting to form a history committee, if you are interested to help or have items you'd like to donate, please contact Betty Jean Roberts. The committee will be gathering history pieces, photos, and more of the church and start displaying it in a cabinet for all to see!

-There is a box for donations of canned goods for the Alms House Food Pantry in Burkeville in the lobby of the church, if you are able to donate please consider doing so

We had our first Youth Night last night! We had some of our youth and their friends join together in the fellowship hall for Bible Study, Snacks, lots of games, and being together! They had the best time.

The Bible Study was about using the tools and gifts God gives us. How each job can't be done correctly without the perfect tool. When we all work together, we can accomplish more than being apart. Using our tools from God!

Everyone is welcome to bring their kids aged 12 and up. Every Sunday Night 6-7:30PM! (Unless otherwise posted) Bible Study, Snacks, Games, and more! Bring a friend, family member, etc. Everyone is welcome and opened to all! Come out and have fun learning about God!

A huge thank you to Dr. Ben Coates for speaking during church service yesterday! It was a wonderful sermon. We enjoyed hearing his personal life stories and how he overcame challenges with the guidance of God.

Also, some chalk drawings on the sidewalk that the children drew! Little reminders go a long way 🙏
