LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
THE PATH OF THE LORD IS RIGHT

Manitoba’s most prominent champion of French-language rights once said, “If there are a hundred steps in thy path to success, and ye have not reached it in ninety-nine of them, do not conclude that the journey is a failure. Press on and up... the prizes are generally at the end of an effort, not at its beginning... and not to go on is to miss them.”

The missing equation here is the plan of God and His path.

The path of the Lord is true and right, and as children of God, we are commanded to walk in it.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
DISCIPLINE MAKES YOU WISE

Teenagers frequently possess an "I know-it-all" mindset, thinking that their choices are always correct. Yet God established institutions to shape us through discipline. When institutions implement healthy discipline, it corrects foolishness and builds character. Tom Landry, one of history's greatest head coaches, said: "The job of a football coach is to make men do what they
don't want to do, in order to achieve what they've always wanted to be.”

True discipline brings wisdom and leads to lasting success.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
GOD EXPECTS HIS CHILDREN TO GROW

A person who believes and receives the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is reborn. The Lord Jesus calls this being "born again." They are born into the family of God, coming out of the family of the devil described by the Lord in John 8:44. It is a spiritual birth that God gives to anyone who repents and receives the Lord Jesus Christ into their life.

God expects this new life in Christ to grow through feeding on the Word of God, learning it, and applying it to one's life.

Growing children of God do what is right according to the standard of His Word.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
INNER STRENGTH TO OVERCOME

Former President Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”

We have to take on the challenges of life, no matter how impossible they may seem. Take courage, because we have God, who is willing to give us mighty inner strength to overcome these difficulties through the Holy Spirit.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
PRIDE DESTROYS

It is said that in the summer of 1986, two ships collided in the Black Sea off the coast of Russia. Hundreds of passengers died as they were thrown into the waters below. When the results of the investigation were released, it was revealed that the accident was caused by human stubbornness and pride. Both captains were aware of what would happen. Both could have steered clear, but neither wanted to give way to the other. Each was too proud to yield first. As a result, many lives were
lost.

This is why God opposes the proud, as stated in James 4:6: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

Pride always leads to destruction.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
LIVE FOR GOD’S PURPOSE

David Brainerd (1718–1747) was a missionary to Native Americans in New York, New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania. He later discovered why the villagers did not kill him when he first entered their land as an unwelcome stranger. It was said that as warriors crept toward his tent with tomahawks, intent on taking his life, they cautiously
looked inside and saw him praying. While he was on his knees, a rattlesnake slithered across his feet and raised itself to strike. But instead of striking, the snake lowered its head and slunk away from the tent. After witnessing this, the villagers received him with great honor, regarding Brainerd as a messenger from the divine.

When you are doing the work of God, all things work together for your good because you are called according to His purpose.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
GOD REWARDS THOSE WHO LIVE BY FAITH

It is said that John Wesley once shared, “My brother Charles, among the difficulties of our early ministry, used to say, ‘If the Lord would give me wings, I would fly.’ I used to answer, ‘If the Lord bids me fly, with or without wings, I’ll fly.’”

God is pleased when we live by faith, obeying Him even when a task seems impossible, because with God, all things are possible. Venture with God into the impossible, please Him with your faith, and He will reward you for it.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
SHARE AND BE A BLESSING

The writer of the beautiful poem called "The House by the Side of the Road" shared his experience about this. His name was Sam Foss. One day, during one of his travels, he was tired and thirsty. On the side of the road, he saw a sign that said, "Come in and have a cool drink." The path led to a spring of ice-cold water, and beside it was a basket of apples with another sign that said, "Help Yourself." He discovered that this was set up by an old couple who lived in a little house nearby. When he went and asked them about it, he found out that they wanted to share what they had with
anyone who might pass by. "We’re too poor to give money to charity," the old couple said, "so this is the best thing we can do for folks who pass our way."

It doesn’t matter what your status in life is—you can be a blessing if you want to be a blessing.

LIFE’S PRINCIPLE:
EDUCATION THAT BRINGS GREAT WEALTH

It is said that Dr. William Lyon Phelps, one of Yale University’s most distinguished professors of his time, once stated, “I would rather have a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures than a college education.” Former President Theodore Roosevelt also once said, “To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.”

An uneducated thief can steal a few dollars, but with an education, he can steal millions and still get away with it. You see this everywhere you go, especially among those in public office where corruption is rampant.

However, there is a righteous way to attain true wealth—the very way God instructed Joshua long ago: “Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed.”

This is true success—one that brings great wealth you will genuinely enjoy because it is achieved not through your own wisdom, but through the wisdom that comes from God.
