We come from many places, differing in age, differing in race, differing in orientation, politics and even our religious history/upbringing. We celebrate diversity, and we expect everyone’s interpretation of the Bible or of the Christian life to be varied. We believe that God provides spiritual gifts to all and we do not restrict any position or role in the church by gender. The more difference we
bring, the more fully we experience the presence of the sacred in our midst. We celebrate God’s reconciling and healing love in Jesus Christ, which inspires our mission to welcome and love others through service with our community and world. So, come children of God, just as you are. Wherever you are on this journey of life, you are welcome here, here in this place, here in this community, here at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

We are glad you stopped by for this electronic visit, and look forward to when we can meet you in person. First Christian Church has been witnessing to the Good News of Jesus Christ’s transforming unconditional love since 1826. Two of the founders of what is now known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) – Alexander Campbell and Barton Warren Stone – both preached at FCC Crawfordsville in the 1800’s. Regardless of the fact that we are almost 200 years old, we are as new and fresh as today. We rejoice in our mission of loving God, loving others and serving with the love of Christ in our community and to “the ends of the earth.”
