“Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ ‭King James Bible

Recently seen the debate over how people treat the church, specifically the sanctuary. This should clarify a few things for people:
“And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.” Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭King James Bible

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭King James Bible

God Himself told Moses that the dirt was holy ground because Moses was in His presence that it was so sacred he was to remove his shoes. Therefore the sanctuary of the church is to be treated likewise. Meaning it’s not there for your comforts like texting, social media, coffee and other drinks, vaps, or snacking. It’s not a social club. You are entering into the sanctuary before the Almighty God whose presence you should have already been praying to be amongst everyone. That equals holy ground. Do not disrespect God in thinking well my body is the temple so I’ll have my big gulp with me, I’ll wear what I want, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll; because that’s all about you not God.
Also notice in 1 Peter how we are told to be ye holy for He is holy. That means our conduct, conversions, thoughts, our heart’s desires and how we treat Him or disrespect Him and His holy sanctuary. We should be totally given to God, denying our flesh daily, taking up our cross and following Jesus. Jesus didn’t disrespect God His Father in the synagogue, nor anywhere else for that matter.

“The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, and shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭37‬:‭1‬-‭14‬ ‭King James

“How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: My heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, Even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: They will be still praising thee. Selah. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; In whose heart are the ways of them. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; The rain also filleth the pools. They go from strength to strength, Every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: Give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. Behold, O God our shield, And look upon the face of thine anointed. For a day in thy courts Is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.” Psalm‬ ‭84‬:‭1‬-‭12‬ ‭King James

Do you hunger to be in God’s house like this? If yes, praise God! We pray your desire grows stronger. If no, then it’s our prayer that you hunger and thirst changes in such a way that you become so saturated in the Word that the Lord writes a psalm of praise upon your heart.

“And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.”

“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,”

“For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬, ‭17‬-‭18‬, ‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Contrary to modern belief to be a prodigal son or daughter you must first KNOW the Father and then walk away in order to return to Him. We are not born into this world being children of God. We are born into this sinful world and are sinners ourselves who need the Savior. You can only come to The Father by the Son, through the acceptance of Jesus Christ.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭King James

“Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.”
“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭7‬, ‭9‬ ‭King James

In both of these accounts Jesus is speaking: in Matthew He tells us strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life. He is the narrow way, He is the absolute truth and He is Life. I believe this is also why in John, He tells us He is the door. A gate is board, has a larger opening than a door on purpose; more can enter at the same time. But a door is narrow, only one individual can walk through at a time. Even most sidewalks leading to the front door are narrow because they correspond to the upcoming doorway. The path that leads to God is narrow, true and strait and Jesus is the door. You can’t enter in with someone else. You must choose to answer the door as you are invited to come in.
It’s our prayer at Corydon GB Church that each and everyone chooses the strait and narrow door: choose Jesus today.
