Happy Saturday, church family!

1 Thessalonians 4:11 says, “make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you.”

That’s a strange thing to call an “ambition,” isn’t it? We usually think of ambition as chasing something bigger, louder, more visible. But Paul flips that here. He’s encouraging us to be ambitious about the quiet, ordinary, faithful things right in front of you. Whatever your hands find to do today, however ordinary it looks.

We live in a world that’s loud. Opinions everywhere, controversy always one scroll away, something demanding our attention or outrage at every turn. It’s easy to get pulled into all of it and lose sight of what’s actually ours to steward. The people in our home, the work in front of us, the quiet responsibilities nobody’s clapping for.

This weekend, whatever is genuinely yours to tend to, let that be enough. You don’t have to have an opinion on everything loud around you. Just be faithful with what’s quietly right in front of you.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends.

Happy Friday, Corry!

As Labor Day weekend gets underway, we hope you get time to find real rest… Not just a break from work, but a chance to actually be present. With family. With friends. With the people who matter most.

It’s easy to let a long weekend become just another to-do list with cookouts to plan, plans to coordinate, things to get to. Let’s remember that rest is something God actually commands. It’s not weakness or laziness. Rest is really just trust disguised. Trust that the world keeps turning and things keep moving even when you step back for a minute.

So this weekend, we hope you actually unplug. Put the phone down for a stretch. Have a real conversation. Sit outside a little longer than you planned to. Make amends with that neighbor. Let yourself just be, without needing to produce or accomplish anything.

And when Sunday comes, we’d love to have you back with us as we continue our journey through Esther - 10:45am at Relevant Church, 100 W South St, Corry, PA.

Have a wonderful, restful weekend!

Whew! What a day yesterday.

Our community experienced such a wide range of weather, demonstrating the power and beauty and awe of the creation of God. What a good reminder that as proud and indestructible and smart as we want to think we are, our Heavenly Father is the alpha and the omega - completely sovereign over all creation.

Yesterday was a hard day for a lot of our community. The weather moved fast, decisions had to be made in the moment, and not everyone saw eye to eye on what was best. That’s real life. Sometimes there isn’t a clear right answer, just people doing their best with the information they have in a moment that doesn’t allow for much time to think.

We’re reminded of James 1:19 - “everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

There’s a moment in Esther’s story where the king made a fast, high-stakes decision without knowing the full picture and it set off a chain of events nobody could undo. It’s a reminder that we rarely see the whole story behind someone else’s decision, especially when it’s made quickly and under pressure.

So today, wherever you are, we just want to encourage grace. Grace for the people making hard calls without perfect information. Grace for neighbors who saw it differently than you. Slow to anger, quick to listen - especially when it’s hard.

Praying for our community today. Hope everyone’s staying safe, dry, and focused on the One worthy of our attention.

Happy Wednesday, church family!

A quick check-in midway through the week: whatever you wrote down on your next steps sheet Sunday whether it was attendance, service, baptism, tithing, salvation, or something between you and God… how’s it going?

Esther didn’t just decide to act and then disappear into it alone. She had people checking in, praying with her, standing with her the whole way through. We want to be that for you too.

So we’re asking… not to put you on the spot, but because we care: where are you at with what God prompted you toward? Need someone to talk to about it? Need prayer? Need a next step on your next step?

Reach out. We’re walking this out with you.

Happy Tuesday, yall!

“For such a time as this… and if I perish, I perish.”

These two lines really stood out this week throughout the message this week. Between these two verses is the whole turning point of Esther’s story. One was Mordecai’s challenge and the other was Esther’s answer. One asks the question, the other gives the response. And in the gap between them, Esther didn’t answer right away. She asked for three days to fast and prepare before she gave her answer.

We don’t always give ourselves that gap. We hear the challenge, the nudge to step up, to say yes, to do the hard thing, and we either answer too fast without counting the cost, or we stall out and never answer at all. Esther did neither of those. She took the question seriously, prepared her heart, and then she moved toward an answer.

Maybe today you’re sitting in your own version of that gap. You’ve heard the challenge, and you haven’t answered yet.

What would it look like to prepare your heart today, so you’re ready to say “if I perish, I perish” when the moment calls for it?

Praying for your decision today. We are here to walk it out with you.
