September is . It's a time to share resources, start conversations, and reduce stigma around mental health. At Long Memorial UMC we have two important conversations planned this month.
First is Getting Real: Straight-Talk About Self-Harm and What to Do About It (For Middle and High Schoolers) . ALL Middle and High School students are invited to join us for this important talk on Wednesday, September 9, 5:45pm-7:15pm. A free dinner will be served beforehand at 5pm.
Second is Mental Health Workshop for Adults that Work with Teens. Whether you are a parent, teacher, or adult that simply cares about teens, this workshop is for you! The workshop will address su***de prevention, intervention, and post-vention. Taking place on Sunday, September 13, 8:45am-10:45am (FREE hot breakfast served at 8:15am). While this event is free, please help us prepare by pre-registering your attendance. You can sign-up by emailing [email protected].
Both talks will be led by Licensed Professional Counselor, Steve Sweatt, from United Counseling, at Long Memorial United Methodist Church (123 Green Ave Cordova, AL 35550). Both events are FREE and open to the public!
