Where Do You Find Your Identity?

Tonight, the room was blessed by Tripp Stillwell’s testimony as he shared how God delivered him from a life of people-pleasing, drugs, alcohol, incarceration, and bo***ge, and gave him a new identity in Christ. He reminded us that we are not defined by our past, our mistakes, or what others think of us—we are who God says we are.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Michele Ryals did an amazing job, as always, ushering in the Holy Spirit with her beautiful voice as she led us in worship.

We are so thankful for Bro. Hal slade and some of the men from Ebenezer Baptist Church, who blessed us with a delicious barbecue meal. We are grateful for their support and for all those who faithfully support this ministry.

We ended the night celebrating days, weeks, months, and years of recovery. Whether it was from drugs, alcohol, depression, grief, anger, road rage, or other hurts, habits, and hang-ups, there were so many victories to celebrate. Every chip represented God's faithfulness and the hope that recovery is possible.

We would love for you to join us next Tuesday as we gather together again. There is a place for you!

What an incredible night at Celebrate Recovery! Hearts were touched, chains were broken, and God’s presence was felt from beginning to end.

Chris delivered a powerful message as he walked us through Lesson 9: Inventory, encouraging us to take an honest look within, surrender our hurts, habits, and hang-ups to God, and allow Him to begin true healing from the inside out. It was a lesson filled with truth, hope, and freedom, reminding us that we cannot heal what we refuse to reveal.

Before the lesson, everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ meal lovingly prepared and served by the wonderful ladies from First Baptist Church of Vienna. Their kindness, servant hearts, and hospitality made everyone feel welcomed and cared for. We are so thankful for churches and people willing to serve behind the scenes to help make recovery nights special.

Worship was absolutely amazing as Tyler and Mara Grantham led us into the presence of God with Holy Spirit-filled worship. The atmosphere was powerful, uplifting, and full of peace as voices joined together in praise and worship. Their music helped prepare hearts for what God wanted to do throughout the evening.

Thank you to everyone who came, served, worshipped, shared, and supported Celebrate Recovery this week. Every testimony, every prayer, every hug, and every act of service matters more than you know. God is moving, healing is happening, and lives are being changed one step at a time.

We can’t wait to see everyone next week as we continue this journey of hope, healing, and recovery together.

What an incredible night at Celebrate Recovery!

Our hearts are so full after such a meaningful evening together, and we are truly thankful for every person who came and was part of what God did. A special thank you to the Vienna Church of God for providing an incredible meal and leading us into such a powerful time of worship. They truly ushered in the presence of the Holy Spirit and blessed us by feeding us both physically and spiritually.

Tonight, we had the honor of hearing the testimony of Brother Troy Fripp, and his message touched every heart in the room. Brother Troy spoke about the amazing grace of God. A grace that is sufficient even when we know we do not deserve it. Through the story of the prodigal son, he reminded us that no matter how far we wander, God’s love never stops reaching for us.

One of the most powerful parts of the message was the reminder that the prodigal son “came to himself.” In that moment, he realized he needed to return to the Father — and when he did, the Father was already waiting with open arms. Brother Troy shared how God meets us right where we are, in the middle of our brokenness, our failures, and our struggles. We do not have to clean ourselves up before coming to Him. His grace is enough.

His testimony was a beautiful reminder that God’s mercy is greater than our mistakes and that restoration is always possible through surrender and relationship with Him.

We are so grateful for Brother Troy’s willingness to share his heart and for the encouragement, healing, and hope that filled the room tonight.

If you missed it, we would love for you to join us next time. You are always welcome. No matter your hurt, habit, or hang-up.

What an incredible, eye-opening night at Celebrate Recovery!

Lesson 8: Sponsor was powerfully reviewed by Shona Patterson, who did an amazing job reminding us of the importance of accountability, honesty, and having someone beside us in the recovery journey. One quote that really stood out was, “The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.” — Norman Vincent Peale. That quote fit perfectly with the heart of Lesson 8, because a sponsor’s role isn’t just to cheer us on, but to lovingly speak truth, challenge us, and help guide us toward healing and freedom.

A huge thank you to Central Baptist Church in Americus for providing an amazing fried chicken meal — seriously, if you weren’t there, you missed out! Worship led by Amber Posey and the band was absolutely powerful and truly ushered in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

As the night continued, the open share groups were filled with people willing to peel back the layers of their hurts, habits, and hang-ups, all in hopes of stepping into the next level of their recovery. Nights like this are reminders that healing happens when we get honest, stay connected, and allow God to work through others in our lives. Recovery is happening, and God is moving!

Tuesday’s coming! And we have a special treat in store at Celebrate Recovery ❤️

Our very own Shona Patterson will be sharing Lesson 8: Sponsor.

This powerful lesson dives into the importance of having someone walk beside you in recovery — someone who encourages you, challenges you, prays for you, and reminds you that you never have to face life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups alone. Sponsors are living proof that healing happens together, not in isolation.

Central Baptist Church in Americus will provide our meal for the evening, and worship will be led by Amber Posey!

There’s something for all ages, so bring the entire family and join us for a night of hope, healing, and community.
