The gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues, are not given for personal glory or individual experience. They are given for the common good, distributed by the Spirit as He wills, through people who are willing vessels.
Our oneness as a body is far more important than our uniqueness, and yet discerning our uniqueness leads to health and clear purpose. Like a human body, every part is indispensable. The parts that seem weakest are often the most necessary. When one member suffers, all suffer. When one is honored, all rejoice.
The goal of every gift, without exception, is to point people to Jesus!
