Our Ladies Group had a service project this evening making signs for our upcoming Back-to-School Block Party on September 11, 2026. Our group is slowly out growing our space. ❤️

One of our community partners, The South Coast Folk Society hosted their annual Music Day Camp at our Community Center twice this summer. Last Thursday they wrapped up their time in music, dance, & using instruments. Families were welcome to take part in the activities. We are able to host these types of community partnerships for free because of our community donations that take place at Christmas time with our Red Kettles.

Thank you Fred Meyer for partnering with us today. Together we helped 15 of our local students who had critical needs with Back-to-School clothes & shoes. This was possible because The Salvation Army Coos Bay Corps was awarded a Back-to-School scholarship fund of $2,000. From Fred Meyer to divide up between 15 students. Students then got to shop for things they needed to help make this year successful for them. Our After-school Program staff, teen leaders, Salvation Army Donors, students parents, & Corps Officers helped the students shop. We do the most good together ❤️

This week some of our older Students spent the last 10 days at the Western Music Institute in CA, while some of our other students spent the week at our Day Camp program locally & they went to the Pottery Co for a field trip. This is just a snapshot of our summer. We've done so much this summer!

It has been full of Jesus, praise & worship, competitions, students, campers, music, fine arts, activities, driving, creativity, learning, games, science, exploring, community involvement & so much more.

We're now opening up on site sign ups until 2pm for backpacks filled with school supplies for school age students. (While supplies last.)
