There are opportunities to help with the open house!

To accommodate our nonmember friends and neighbors at the temple open house, we need volunteers to assist during all scheduled hours. This is such a rare event, we realize adjusting work and school schedules may be necessary, but essential for us as members of the Willamette Valley Temple Area to accomplish what the First Presidency has asked us to do during the open house days.
Some tasks like Parking and Cleaning may not be as high profile as Ushering, but all the volunteer service is required for the open house to operate smoothly.
Members are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts. Many members and families have coordinated days and times to serve with friends and class/quorum members to be able to serve with people they know.
Volunteers can work two shifts back-to-back. The overlap in shift times is for training purposes but shift leaders can work around that overlap and training to make it possible.
Shift age designations such as 11+, 16+, and 18+ mean anyone older than that age can assist in that position--youth or adult.
Nonmembers and non-temple recommend holders are allowed to volunteer as long as they will abide by the Sunday Dress and church standards while they are serving. Cleaning assignments are an exception as the volunteer needs to be endowed.
The open volunteer shifts for all stakes have now been consolidated on the following website: https://volunteersignup.org/B8BTC
Shift confirmations will be sent out to everyone signed up in the next week.
If there are questions or changes to previously signed up times need to be made, there is an email contact button at the bottom of the webpage.
Thank you for your help.

Feel the Love of Jesus Christ at General Conference
Join us this Easter for general conference April 4–5

The 196th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be held at the conference center in Salt Lake City. Church digital channels and broadcast stations around the world will make the four general sessions available to all. Church Newsroom and social media channels will share news and inspiration from the conference all weekend, emphasizing the Resurrection of the Savior that we are commemorating Easter weekend.

After a series of one-sided trials, Jesus Christ was sentenced to death by crucifixion. Roman soldiers mocked and scourged Him and nailed Him to the cross. But instead of condemning them, Jesus Christ begged His Father to ‘forgive them; for they know not what they do’ (Luke 23:34).

In 2023, President Russell M. Nelson said, "I can think of no more fitting way to honor the Lord Jesus Christ this Easter. I promise that as you forgive, the Savior will relieve you of anger, resentment and pain. The Prince of Peace will bring you peace.”

“The sacred events between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday are the story of hosanna and hallelujah. Hosanna is our plea for God to save. Hallelujah expresses our praise to the Lord for the hope of salvation and exaltation. In hosanna and hallelujah we recognize the living Jesus Christ as the heart of Easter and latter-day restoration.”
-Gerrit W. Gong

“It is fitting that during the week from Palm Sunday to Easter morning we turn our thoughts to Jesus Christ, the source of light, life and love. The multitudes in Jerusalem may have seen Him as a great king who would give them freedom from political oppression. But in reality He gave much more than that. He gave us His gospel, a pearl beyond price, the grand key of knowledge that, once understood and applied, unlocks a life of happiness, peace and fulfillment. …

“Let us remember on this Palm Sunday, during this Easter season, and always that the restored gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has the power to fill any emptiness, heal any wound, and bridge any vale of sorrow. It is the way of hope, faith, and trust in the Lord”
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf
