Monday Morning Meditations (9/7/26)

Romans 12:10 emphasizes the affectionate, humble relationships that should characterize God’s family.

“Be devoted to one another” — Christians should possess sincere, family-like affection for one another. Our relationships should involve loyalty, concern, and commitment—not merely friendliness at worship services.

“In brotherly love” — The Greek word philadelphia refers to the love shared within a family. Through Christ, believers are spiritual brothers and sisters who genuinely care for one another.

“Give preference to one another” — Rather than insisting on our own desires, recognition, or convenience, we willingly place the needs and interests of others ahead of ourselves (Philippians 2:3–4).

“In honor” — Christians should actively look for opportunities to appreciate, encourage, and recognize the good qualities and faithful service of others.

Some practical ways that we can fulfill this divine instruction:
🔘Develop meaningful relationships with fellow Christians beyond the assembly.
🔘Notice those who may be lonely, discouraged, overlooked, or struggling.
🔘Speak words that encourage and build others up.
🔘Rejoice when another Christian receives recognition or succeeds.
🔘Yield personal preferences when doing so promotes peace and strengthens others.
🔘Treat every Christian as a valued member of God’s family.

Brotherly kindness is more than friendliness. It is the sincere, loyal, active affection Christians possess for one another because we are members of God’s family.

have a great week serving the Lord and serving others,
Jesse

Monday Morning Meditations (8/31/26)

The Greek word for godliness (eusebeia) can be defined as "reverence toward God, devotion, piety, living in a manner that honors God, and God-centered living." Godliness is not merely believing in God; it is living every day with a deep awareness of His presence and seeking to please Him in all things.

Let's put our focus and energy today on the various ways that we can exercise ourselves toward godliness.

For starters, why not begin our day in prayer with God (Luke 5:16; 1 Thess. 5:17). Next let's exercise our minds by meditating on the law of the LORD (Ps. 119:97; 2 Tim. 2:15). Send a card to someone that needs encouragement (1 Thess. 5:11). Visit a fellow saint in the hospital or nursing home (Matt. 25:36). Talk to your friend, neighbor, or a stranger about the good news in Jesus Christ (Matt. 10:32). Weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice (Rom. 12:15). Be given to hospitality (Rom. 12:13). Turn off the TV, log off Facebook, put down your smartphone or tablet and gather the family together for a period of Bible study, prayer, and song (Eph. 5:15-20).

You will never regret each moment that you exercise yourself and those around you toward godliness. It is profitable for all things in this life and the life yet to come.

have a great week serving the Lord and serving others,
Jesse
