Today was a good day worshipping God and showing appreciation for our Deacons and honoring our Shepherds! We are thankful for these men of God as they lead us in the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ!
"Shepherds, today we honor you. Today, we thank you for serving in what should not be, but what has often become a thankless role.
Today, we present to you a Shepherd’s crook. Immediately recognizable for its association with the responsibility, care, and concern of a Shepherd to his sheep. May it be a reminder to you of your role as elder, overseer, bishop, and shepherd over the flock of God’s people here at Jefferson Avenue.

Thank you for guiding us in paths of righteousness to green pastures and quiet
waters. We know it is not an easy journey, that we are not a perfect flock, and that missteps are made in the midst of dark valleys. We are thankful and prayerful that despite all of our collective imperfections our Shepherds will continue to follow in the way laid out by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
