Our Missionary Care team is preparing for our annual MK Beach Retreat over Labor Day Weekend — a time to reconnect with our missionary kids, encourage them, and walk with them through the unique challenges of transitioning back to the U.S. for college. As we get ready, here are a few ways our churches and supporters can better understand what MKs face as they transition “home” and how we can pray for them.

🌎 One gospel. Two very different worlds.

From rural villages to a modern city nearly 8,000 feet above sea level, Grady and Denise Johnson are sharing the same unchanging message across Mexico.

Through Christian education, local churches, Bible institutes, medical outreaches, and personal evangelism, they are helping people hear the gospel, grow in God’s Word, and become equipped to lead.

BMA Global is receiving disaster relief funds to assist those affected by severe flash flooding in Nepal.

Lives have been lost, many people remain missing, and families have been displaced from their homes. Churches and believers in several communities have also suffered tremendous loss.

Yet even in the midst of devastation, local churches are opening their doors to those who have nowhere else to go. Believers are providing shelter and working alongside local pastors to meet urgent needs, demonstrating the love of Christ to their neighbors in a very tangible way.

Immediate needs include food, clothing, medicine, diapers and other necessities for families who have lost nearly everything.

BMA Global is receiving donations that will help meet these urgent needs through our ChangeMaker, Sishir R., and ministry partners serving affected communities.

What does “home” mean when the people you love are scattered across 18 time zones—and you don’t know when or where your next move may be?

After one year of serving in Central Asia, AJ reflects on how home has become less about a physical place and more about people: local friends, teammates, a favorite coffee shop, worship songs in six languages, and loved ones in more than 15 countries.

Yet even among these meaningful connections, something is still missing. That ache reminds us that we were created for our true home with the Father—and motivates us to bring as many people with us as we can.
