On this day, August 30, 2026, Abbot Paul Sheller, OSB, was blessed by Bishop James V Johnston and installed as the eleventh abbot of Conception Abbey.

The Mass and Blessing was filled with joy and gratitude for the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon our community. In your kindness, please pray for God's guidance and wisdom as the monks move forward under Abbot Paul's leadership.

With gratitude and joy, we celebrate a new step in the journey of five men discerning a call to monastic life at Conception Abbey. Today, David, Robert, Joseph, Dalton, and Adam entered the Novitiate, beginning a new and significant chapter of prayer, study, work, and life in community.

Their time as postulants has been a period of continued discernment and growth as they seek to listen more deeply to God’s call. As they now begin the Novitiate, we ask you to continue praying for them, that they may grow in faith, wisdom, humility, and love for Christ and His Church.

Please join us in welcoming our five new novices and in praying that the Lord will guide them as they continue to discern His call.
