Is Christianity anti-intellectual?

In a world shaped by science, skepticism, and the demand for proof, many people assume faith means shutting off your brain. But Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your…mind.”

Christianity has never feared honest questions or intellectual investigation. In fact, many of history’s greatest scientific discoveries were made by people who believed the universe reflected the wisdom of its Creator.

Faith is not blind irrationality. It is trust in the God who entered history, died for sinners, and rose again.

A lot of people think Christianity is just a crutch for weak people.

But the Bible says something much more serious—and much more hopeful:
we’re not just weak… we’re spiritually dead apart from Christ.

And dead people don’t need a boost.
They need resurrection.

This past Sunday, we explored why Christianity isn’t about self-improvement or coping mechanisms—it’s about God making dead people alive through Jesus.

A lot of people are comfortable saying:
“Jesus was a good moral teacher.”
But that doesn’t actually work.
Because Jesus didn’t just teach morals—
He made claims about Himself.
He said:
• He is God
• He forgives sins
• He is the only way to eternal life
Those aren’t the words of a “good teacher.”
Because if those claims aren’t true,
then He’s not good—He’s either mistaken or misleading.
But if those claims are true…
then you can’t just admire Him.
👉 You have to answer this question:
What do you do with someone who says things like that?

More Than a Good Teacher

Imagine going to the doctor with serious chest pain…
and all he gives you is advice.

“Eat better. Reduce stress.”

That’s not enough.

And maybe that’s the problem with how many people see Jesus.

We say:
“He was a great teacher.”
“He gave good advice.”

But Jesus didn’t just give advice—He made claims:
“I forgive sins.”
“I am the way.”
“Follow Me.”

That’s not just teaching. That’s a decision.

So here’s the question:

Is Jesus just giving you advice… or is He your Savior?

Jesus didn’t just give advice for better living.
He claimed to deal with sin, death, and eternity.

That’s a very different kind of claim.

We all want options.

More choices. More paths. More ways.

But when it comes to salvation, the Bible doesn’t point us to options.

It points us to a person.

“There is no other name… by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Not because God is limiting—but because Jesus has already done what no one else could.
