Our Zion Lutheran Church family extends our Christian sympathy to the Traver family following the passing of LuAnn Traver, who entered her eternal rest on Friday, August 7.

A celebration of LuAnn’s life and the promise of the resurrection will be held on Thursday, August 13, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Please keep the Traver family in your prayers during this time, trusting in the hope we have through our risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.’” — John 11:25

It is with sadness that we share that our sister in Christ, Ilene Dietzel, entered into eternal rest with her Savior this morning.

A funeral service celebrating Ilene’s life and the hope we have in Christ will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.

We give thanks for Ilene’s life, her faith, and the many ways she touched our church family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Please keep Ilene’s family and loved ones in your prayers during this time, trusting in the promise of Jesus:

Day 2 Recap at Illumination Station 🌟

Another wonderful evening is in the books at Illumination Station! 💡✨

Our VBS friends enjoyed another night filled with songs, crafts, games, colorful treats, and time learning that Jesus is the Light of the World.

From singing and motions during Mirror Ball Music to decorating light switch covers as a reminder to let God’s light shine, enjoying our colorful Kaleidoscope Apples snack, and laughing together during recreation, it was another evening full of smiles, laughter, and learning.

One of the best parts of VBS is watching friendships grow while seeing so many volunteers—from teenagers to grandparents—share God’s love in countless ways. Whether leading music, helping with crafts, serving snacks, preparing lessons, or cheering kids on during games, every volunteer plays an important role in making this week possible.

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for our children, volunteers, and families. We are so thankful for this opportunity to share the love of Jesus with each child who walks through our doors, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the week as we continue to Light the Way together! 💛

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
— John 8:12

💡 What an incredible first night at Illumination Station VBS! ✨

Our week is off to a wonderful start!

Tonight, the children learned that Jesus is the Light of the World through Bible stories, music, games, crafts, and plenty of smiles. They created lantern crafts, lassoed beach balls during recreation, and enjoyed some tasty Razzle Dazzle Grapes and Stoplight Snacks along the way!

Most importantly, we spent the evening growing together in God’s Word and sharing the light of Christ.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who make evenings like this possible. Your time, energy, and servant hearts are such a blessing to our church and to every child who walks through our doors.

We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the week!

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
— John 8:12

💛 See you tomorrow!

💡 Tonight’s the night! ✨

The wait is finally over—we can’t wait to welcome everyone to Illumination Station VBS this evening!

Before the fun begins, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped prepare for this week. Thank you to those who spent Friday evening decorating, everyone who stayed after worship today to put on the finishing touches, and to each volunteer who will be serving throughout the week.

Your willingness to serve has been a blessing, and your hard work has made this week possible. Because of your servant hearts, children will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus, build friendships, make memories, and grow in their faith. VBS simply wouldn’t be possible without each of you.

To all of our VBS families—we are so excited to spend this week with your children as we discover that Jesus is the Light of the World! We have a fun-filled week of Bible stories, music, games, crafts, snacks, and worship planned, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store.

Please continue to keep our volunteers, families, and children in your prayers throughout the week.

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
— John 8:12

We’ll see you tonight! 💛✨

💡 The countdown is on! ✨

In just a 6 days, our Illumination Station VBS will begin, and preparations are well underway!

There are lights to test, decorations to build, supplies to organize, songs to practice, lessons to prepare, and so many little details coming together behind the scenes.

We’re excited to welcome all of our children as we learn that Jesus is the Light of the World. Please keep our volunteers, families, and all of the children who will be attending in your prayers as we prepare for an incredible week together.

We can’t wait to see you Sunday! 💛
