Knights of Columbus - Council #2506 Knights of Columbus Council #2506 - Est. 1923. Serving the Waconia, Victoria, & Cologne communities.

Our Knights of Columbus - Council #2506 was chartered on December 2, 1923. We have a long history of serving our families and community in Waconia, Victoria, Cologne, and the surrounding areas. Thanks to the men of faith back then for having the vision to come together with the mission of charity, fraternity, unity, and patriotism. We are honored to continue to serve in the tradition established b

y these men nearly a century ago in the name of Jesus Christ. Among the parish initiatives supported by the Knights are the Respect Life Breakfast, Lent Fish Fry, Thanksgiving Turkey and Fixings, Gifts for Troops, Tootsie Roll Drive, Summer Fun Fest, Free Throw Contest, and Keep Christ In Christmas Poster Contest. The beneficiaries of the Knight’s volunteer work and fundraising include the Auburn West Nursing Home, Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Enkrateia: House of Hope, Southwest Options for Women, Love INC, St Joseph Catholic Community and St Joseph Catholic School, Special Olympics, Memorial Blood Center, and Waconia Food Shelf. The Council #2506 general membership meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Our Council meetings are held at the Parish Center in the lower level of St. Joseph Church except for the summer months (May – Sept) where we hold the Council meetings at Klein Drive Park (KC Park).

Congratulations to our new 3rd degree Knights: Nate & Noah T, Fred & Porter B, and Roger S, who were honored during this special ceremony. The Waconia Knights of Columbus Exemplification highlighted the history and principles of the order, reflecting the original Unity, Charity, and Fraternity ceremonies first approved by Father McGivney.

People are ready for the fullness of the faith. It is in the depth of beauty, wonder, and experience that we come to know and love the Lord.

Today we celebrate St. Valentine, not just candy hearts and roses, but courageous, sacrificial love. ❤️

According to tradition, Valentine was a priest who continued to witness and bless Christian marriages at a time when it was forbidden. He believed love was worth defending. He believed marriage was worth protecting, and he ultimately gave his life for that conviction.

Real love isn’t just a feeling. It’s a choice. It’s faithful. It’s brave.

On this Valentine’s Day, let’s thank God for the gift of love, in marriage, in friendship, in family life, and ask for the grace to love with strength and self-gift, not just sentiment.

St. Valentine, pray for us.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.” (Is 9:2)

On this holy night, we wait with joyful expectation for the coming of our Savior.

The quiet of Christmas Eve reminds us that God enters the world not with fanfare, but with humility, tenderness, and love strong enough to change the world.

As families gather and parishes prepare to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord, let us pray for those who seek comfort, those who long for hope, and those who will encounter Christ for the first time tonight.

May the light of Christ find a home in every heart this Christmas.

We are proud to support this great event!

On this day, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001.

We honor the courage of first responders, the strength of survivors, and the faith of families who carry the memory of their loved ones.

As Knights, we entrust all victims to God’s mercy and continue to pray for peace, healing, and unity in our nation.

🙏 Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

The more than 2.1 million Knights of Columbus around the world join Catholics and people of all faiths today as we mourn the death of our Holy Father Pope Francis, the Bishop of Rome and spiritual leader of the Catholic Church. Pope Francis was a powerful witness to charity and fraternity, calling us from his first days as pope to reach out to the margins of society and serve those who are too often forgotten.

The Knights of Columbus is particularly grateful for its close relationship with our late Holy Father. Pope Francis continually encouraged our charitable mission and offered his blessing for our work, especially our humanitarian efforts around the world. Pope Francis was also very supportive of our efforts to help Catholic men be better husbands and fathers and take up co-responsibility for the Church’s mission of evangelization.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
