Scripture tells us to examine our faith. Have you?

"There is a large class in Christendom today who are satisfied with a bare profession.
They have heard some of the fundamentals of the Christian faith, and have given an intellectual assent thereto, and they mistake that for a saving knowledge of the Truth.
Their minds are instructed -- but their hearts are not reached, nor their lives transformed!
They are still worldly in their affections and ways.

There’s no substitute for an in-person experience. In other words, there’s nothing like being there. Let me explain. I’ve had the opportunity to see Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, and Garth Brooks, just to name a few, live in concert. I’ve also watched these same performers on television. I enjoy watching them on the tube, but it can’t come close to seeing them in-person. The same holds true for any sporting event. The Masters Golf Tournament comes to mind. You can watch it on your television, however, you will never appreciate the beauty of the course and the roar of the crowd unless you are there.

The same is true with your church life. You can sit in the comfort of your home and watch a worship service, but you can’t duplicate the in-person experience. There is a dynamic which occurs when God’s people meet together for cooperate worship that can only be experienced if you’re present. That experience includes fellowship, love, togetherness, and emotion that comes through the movement of God’s Spirit. That’s why so many saints who are homebound say the same thing over and over: “I miss worshiping with my church family.”

Worship is a verb and not a noun and it calls us to action and participation. So, if you are feeling a little dry spiritually, maybe it’s time to get back to God’s church and His people. Trust me, there’s nothing like an in-person experience if you want to feel and be a part of the movement of God. There’s an empty seat at your local church which has your name on it. Why don’t you show up this Sunday and fill it. It will make a difference in your life. Godspeed my friends.
