🩷If you or someone you know needs a warm place to stay or a hot meal, please come to Elam Baptist Church. We are an overnight shelter and our doors are open—come anytime!

🩷We serve hot meals three times a day, along with plenty of snacks and drinks. We also have beds available for anyone needing a safe, warm place to rest.

Our shelter has been open since the first night power went out, just trying to get the word out. When we first posted we didn't have the supplies to be one but hours after people donated so much and started letting us borrow so much.

No services at Elam Baptist Church tomorrow, January 25, 2025. There are already reports of outages in the county. Once our area has been without power for two hours, we will open the doors as a warming center. Y'all be careful and stay warm.

ATTENTION ELAM COMMUNITY: Elam Baptist Church will serve as a shelter. Throughout the upcoming ice storm. Our fellowship hall has gas wall heaters that efficiently heat that portion of our building, even if we lose power. That section of our building has restrooms and plenty of seating. If you find yourself without heat and can safely travel to the church, please come and make yourself at home. This is not an event; there is no certain time. We will be open once this storm starts, you can come and go. We are a shelter. We do have the resources to be a "shelter". We have beds, power, and we are cooking. Here’s the schedule for next Sunday: Autumn and I will be present for the morning services, but we won’t be attending in the evening services. We will be traveling to Canton for our nephew’s wedding. The only update to note is that the discipleship training at 5 PM has been canceled. We invite you to join us for Sunday school, as well as our morning and evening worship service.

Mr. Emmitt Merrill Brown, 81, of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 200 PM Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church near Coffeeville with Rev. Truman Scarborough and Rev. Elbert McKnight officiating.
