When farmers have access to training, resources, and opportunity, entire communities can thrive.🙌 Blanca joined a Community Training Farm in El Salvador to help support her family. Today, she grows hundreds of pepper plants, is helping fund her son's engineering studies, and dreams of creating jobs for other women in her community.

Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of women and youth are gaining the skills and confidence to grow food, increase their income, and build stronger futures. Together, we're planting seeds of hope that will last for generations. 🌱

Hurricane season begins today, but at Food For The Poor, preparation starts long before a storm appears on the radar.
Today, members of our Disaster Preparedness and Response team gathered at our Coconut Creek, Fla., warehouse for a media briefing to discuss preparations for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.🌧️

Although forecasters predict a mild season, we know it only takes one hurricane to bring devastation and heartbreak. That’s why now is the time to prepare, while skies are blue and conditions are calm.

As in previous years, we are distributing disaster preparedness kits to 10 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Grenada, Peru, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala.
