🌊🌈 Water of Judgment (2nd on the right of the cross)

The great flood is the Bible’s reminder of God’s judgment upon the sin of the world. The rainbow is the sign of God’s covenant with the earth to never again release the waters to destroy all creation.

The Ark was planned by God, for Noah and his family, for remaining obedient and faithful. Just as the Ark was the only way for Noah and his family to be saved from the flood, there is only one way for us to be saved and live in the enternal Kingdom, through Jesus Christ.

✝️ In our beachside community with visitors, families, workers, tourists, and people walking or driving by every day, a cross serves as a visible symbol of faith, hope, welcome, and Christ’s presence in the community.

⏳ As part of Riverside’s 70th Anniversary, the church hopes to install a new cross on the Atlantic Avenue side of the Sanctuary to replace the one lost during Hurricane Irma in 2017.

⛪ A local designer has developed a weather-resistant design that has received enthusiastic support, with an estimated cost of $7,000–$10,000. The project is planned for dedication on October 4, 2026, and will be funded entirely through new contributions from church members and friends.

Today begins our 8-week series on the beautiful stained glass windows in our Sanctuary.

🌊🌎 Water of Creation (1st on the right of the cross)

In the beginning the formless void was not simply a lack of things, but a state where things were not yet in a usable or ordered state. Out of this chaos, the Creator gave life and order to all that exists. God’s Spirit is represented as a dove, pouring out the waters of the earth.

💧 Water is essential to life! In the Bible, water symbolizes many things. Just as water is essential to our physical being, Jesus is essential to our spiritual living!

⏳ Over the next 8 weeks, we will feature each of our one-of-kind stained glass windows to dive deep into the importance of water in our journey with God.
