The Ascension of Our Lord is one of those moments in Christian faith that quietly carries enormous weight. At its core, the Ascension proclaims a simple but world shifting truth: Christ did not leave us behind—He lifted humanity with Him.

Why the Ascension Matters

The Ascension isn’t just an ending; it’s the beginning of the Church’s mission and a declaration of what God intends for humanity.

• Christ’s Victory — The Ascension completes the Paschal mystery. Jesus doesn’t just rise from the dead; He rises to the Father, showing that death has no claim on Him or on those who belong to Him.

• Our Exaltation — Early Christian teachers loved to say that when Christ ascended, human nature ascended with Him. Humanity is not abandoned; it is honored.

• The Gift of the Spirit — Jesus tells His disciples that His going makes room for the Holy Spirit. The Ascension is the doorway to Pentecost.

• Our Mission — The angels’ words, “Why do you stand looking up into heaven,” are a gentle push: don’t just admire the miracle—live it.

• Our Hope — The Ascension points forward. The same Christ who ascended will return, and that promise anchors Christian hope.

A Mother’s Day message from Bother Ray,
The Bible says in Proverbs 31:25-26, "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." This scripture paints a beautiful image of a Godly woman – a mother. She is clothed in strength and leads her family with wisdom and grace, this is the kind of mother we will celebrate this Sunday – a kind, compassionate, strong, and wise woman.

Come, join us as we celebrate our mothers and grandmothers with our love, appreciation, and gratitude. We gather to say thank you. Thank you for the endless love, unwavering support, selfless sacrifices, and the countless prayers you have always offered on our behalf.

Let us pray,
Gracious and loving God, Today we give thanks for mothers— for their strength, their patience, and their unwavering love. Bless those who mother with joy, those who mother through challenge, and those who mother in ways unseen by the world. Comfort those who grieve, who long to be mothers, or who carry complicated memories today. Fill every heart with peace, and let Your love surround all who nurture, guide, and care. May we honor them not only with our words, but with lives that reflect the love they have given. Amen.
