Mount Sinai shows us that God’s presence is unapproachable without a mediator. Moses foreshadowed Christ, the true and better mediator. Through His blood, we are redeemed, given a new identity, and welcomed into God’s presence. Therefore, now is the time to pledge our obedience to God and live out our new identity.

As the body of Christ, we are called to live in unity, yet external suffering and internal conflict can fracture us as a community. True unity and perseverance are possible through the mindset and humility of Christ.

It reveals the character of the lawgiver, for God is the standard.
It teaches us how to live our lives correctly.

New believers must be taught right from wrong through God’s law. Through Jethro’s advice to Moses, we see that the burden can’t rest on one man alone. We need faithful men to be raised up to share God’s standards, or the church will burn out.
