These words from one of our warriors are why we continue to fight for this mission every single day.

At SOF Missions, the Be Resilient Program is about more than getting through a few difficult days. We address the whole warrior—psychological, physical, social, and spiritual—while surrounding them with providers and a community committed to walking alongside them.

Every warrior deserves to know there is a path forward. Every warrior deserves the opportunity to rediscover purpose and build resilience.

We’re excited to welcome Kerin Goff to the SOF Missions family and introduce another incredible person who has chosen to be part of our mission to serve our nation’s warriors.

As SOF Missions continues to grow, so does the team behind the mission. It takes people who are willing to step up, serve with purpose, and believe deeply in the work we are doing. We are grateful to have Kerin joining us for this next chapter.

I wrote this op-ed because veteran su***de is not just a military problem. It’s an American problem.

After more than 20 years in the military, much of it in special operations, I’ve seen incredible courage on the battlefield. But I’ve also seen another war—the one many veterans fight after they come home.

Trauma. Chronic pain. Isolation. Broken relationships. Loss of identity. Loss of purpose.

Too many are fighting that battle alone.

That’s why I wanted to write this piece for CBN. We cannot assume veteran su***de belongs solely to the VA, mental health professionals, or veteran organizations. Those resources matter tremendously—but community matters too.

A phone call matters.
A conversation matters.
Hiring a veteran matters.
Inviting someone to church matters.
Sitting across the table and actually listening matters.

I know firsthand what it means to struggle after war, and I also know the power of having people refuse to give up on you. Purpose changes people. Connection changes people. And sometimes, simply showing up can help save a life.

My challenge is simple:
