“My name is Brett, and I love video games, movies, books (real ones, not electronic wannabes), music, and Indiana Jones. When I was younger, I wanted to be a rockstar. For many years, I had long hair and played guitar in multiple different hard rock and heavy metal bands. After Jesus found me, He set my heart on fire for ministry, especially in the area of teaching theology and His Word. He led me to get two theology degrees and to be a Bible teacher for over a decade.

“My wife is SueEllen. We are recently married but have known each other since the 4th grade! She is a hairstylist/owner who loves horses, fishing, and most other outdoor things. I have two daughters, and she has one. I can’t wait to open our home to our group and see SueEllen do what she is gifted at, which is thinking of others, putting them first, serving them, encouraging them, and loving on them.

“The main point of our study of Genesis this year will be to know and to be able to show that God’s Word is true, and that it explains all of history and the current times that we are living in. Also that it is a guide for us to know what life is about, where we came from, where we are going, how we should live in light of that truth and reality, and ultimately, how better to know, follow, and serve the master of the universe, Jesus Christ.

“Just because of how the Lord has wired me and gifted me, our life group�� will be more lecture style, but with open dialogue. I have full-in-the-blank notes, accompanied by pictures, videos, movie illustrations, current event illustrations (including news headlines) and so on. It is definitely an immersive and interactive environment! We will also have weekly Bible reading and will pray together often.”

Chris and Kathi have been leading a C3 Life Group for the past few years. This is a fun group that sometimes goes off the rails, but it all serves the greater purpose of growing in relationship with one another and with Christ.

Chris’ teaching style is very conversational. He strives to learn as he teaches, and he has found that asking open ended questions is a great way to do that. The topic he has chosen for this fall is Culture and Christianity. He says, “The culture we live in is a bit volatile at times and can influence our decisions in not such glorious ways. Sometimes we lose our footing, and we must be aware of the influences that surround us.”

Their group provides childcare, which is a huge blessing for families with young children!

Chris and Kathi hope you will join them in Barb and Fabian’s home every other Thursday at 6:30.

“I (Rob) met Kevin in 2009, shortly after I had come to know Christ. He was leading a summer class at my church in Fort Wayne. I was a very new attender, and I just wanted to be at church whenever there was something going on. I wandered into Kevin’s class in the midst of a discussion of a rather weighty theological question, and I was almost instantly hooked on the pursuit of understanding the Bible and the things of God. Kevin and I became close very quickly. I was seeking wisdom, and Kevin is an absolute fount of wisdom! He has been one of my most influential Christian fathers ever since.

“About a year ago, my wife Heidi and I were looking for a new church. Because of our relationship with Kevin and some quick research of Pastor Duane’s preaching, we decided to visit C3. But we actually attended Kevin’s Life Group the Wednesday before we attended our first Sunday service. After a few weeks, we knew we were exactly where God wanted us.

“As Kevin has gotten older, he has reached a place where I can help him, as he helped me when I was a baby Christian. I was so pleased when he asked for my help leading this group! It has indeed been a blessing to become part of the C3 family and to be of service here. Our God is an awesome God!”

Oh happy day!! We were overjoyed to witness 12 lives publicly declare their faith through baptism. God is so good!
