Living Word of Chesterfield, SC

Living Word of Chesterfield, SC The Living Word Ministries & Outreach, Inc was founded in November of 1995 by Pastor Donnie Erwin. His motivation comes from Hosea 4:6.

Pastor Scott Adams has led the church since pastor Donnie’s passing in 1997 Pastor Scott Adams, of The Living Word Ministries, was saved and filled
with the Holy Spirit on December 4, 1994. Having grown up in church but
ignorant to the plan and promises of God, Pastor Adams believed there
had to be something more than he had experienced. He was introduced
to a deeper life in Christ by his pastor/m

entor the late Pastor Donnie
Erwin. Since that time, he has been on a quest to know God more
intimately and to teach the Body of Christ who they are and what is
available to them in Christ. The
theme of his ministry is Hebrews 4:12, The Word is Alive! The goal of The
Living Word is to ‘Empower you through the Word of God”. Pastor Adams was ordained in 1998 by his Pastor and friend Pastor James
Redfearn, Jr. Later he received an Associate’s degree in Christian Ministry
from More than Conquerors College where he graduated Salutatorian of
the 2004 class. Pastor Adams says his most notable achievement was convincing the love
of his life, Lani to marry him. They have been married since 1991 and
they have two awesome sons, Seth and Brendan. Both of these young men
serve with their father and mother in the ministry. Having humble beginnings, The Living Word began in a house in November
of 1995, but in 2013, God made available a 22,000 square foot building
and 11 acres of land on a main highway in Chesterfield, SC, and to the
glory of God, it was paid off in 2015. The Lord has opened many doors for Pastor Adams to preach the Word of
God in local churches, men’s fellowships, television, and on mission trips
to Dominican Republic. He is grateful for any and all opportunities to
share the Word of God that has so changed his life.

This sermon explores the journey from conversion to transformation, answering two vital questions: How does a believer learn to walk in the Spirit? And how does one grow from a babe in Christ into an effective, mature believer? Rooted in the truth that salvation gives access while transformation brings experience, the message emphasizes that being born again is the beginning, not the destination. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, believers are progressively changed in character, empowered in faith, and equipped to live as authentic witnesses of Christ. As spiritual growth produces spiritual fruit, the believer moves beyond merely knowing about God to experiencing His power, presence, and purpose in everyday life.

Acknowledging God as Creator is more than recognizing how the world began—it is embracing the truth that everything exists by His wisdom, power, and purpose. When we acknowledge God as Creator, we develop humility, gratitude, and trust, understanding that our lives are not accidents but part of His divine design. This truth calls us to worship Him, steward His creation responsibly, and find our identity and purpose in relationship with Him. Recognizing God as Creator strengthens faith by reminding believers that the God who made all things also sustains, guides, and cares for His creation every day.
Key Scripture Suggestions: Genesis 1:1, Psalm 24:1, Isaiah 40:28, Romans 1:20, and Colossians 1:16–17.

Jesus declared that He would build His Church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. As Christ’s body on earth, the Church serves as a powerful influence for righteousness, standing against the spread of evil and moral decay. In 2 Thessalonians 2:6, Paul speaks of a restraining force that holds back the full manifestation of lawlessness until God’s appointed time. This sermon explores the Church’s God-given role as a spiritual restrainer, its responsibility to uphold truth in an increasingly lawless world, and the urgency of remaining faithful as believers await Christ’s return.

In Isaiah 26, God is revealed as a sure refuge for His people in times of fear, uncertainty, and trouble. “The Shelter of the Most High” explores the peace, protection, and steadfast security found in trusting the Lord completely. This sermon reminds believers that while the world around us may shake, God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him, offering strength, safety, and hope to all who dwell in His presence.

On this day we remember all the brave men and women you paid the ultimate price for the great freedom that many take for granted.

This sermon shows that true praise goes beyond music: it's a wholehearted response to God's worthiness expressed in our words, actions, daily choices, and very breath. Drawing on Psalm 150, it calls listeners to live lives of worship—using gifts, moments, and hardships alike—to honor God continuously, not just during a song.
