St. Luke Lutheran Church

St. Luke Lutheran Church St. Luke congregation was established in 1945 in the Town of Cheektowaga, a suburb of Buffalo. We are part of the Western New York Lutheran community.

"Cheektowaga" is an Iroquois word meaning "land of the crabapples". Since its beginnings, St. Luke has been blessed in many ways and has been a blessing through many tasks done to the glory of God.

After looking at the radar and keeping an eye on the weather, we have decided to move our 8:30 AM worship service inside this morning.

It may rain, it may not, but we’re going to play it safe and worship together in the sanctuary.

A few weeks ago, a representative from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cheektowaga heard about WNY Foster Closet and stopped by to learn more about what we do. Several weeks later, he returned with the pastor and presented us with a very generous financial donation.

After hearing about our ongoing need for underwear, socks, and pajamas, they got right to work! The church asked its parishioners to bring in items to support WNY Foster Closet, and this past week they showed up again… and boy, did they deliver!

They arrived with several boxes filled with the much-needed items they had collected for us.

Thank you to everyone at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church who donated and supported this drive. After our busy back-to-school event, we were running low on so many sizes of underwear and socks, and this donation certainly helped us restock our drawers… literally!

We are so grateful for your kindness and generosity and for helping us continue to meet the needs of the children and families we serve. ❤️

The Glow Night for 6th-12th graders will be Sunday, September 20th from 7-9 pm.

Don’t forget, we only have one Sunday service at 10 AM on Sunday, August 9 for Education Sunday. Join us for worship with communion and a baptism. There is a luncheon afterwards in the small basement.
