For 50 years, First Pres and The Arc of the Piedmont were neighbors on Park Street. That relationship continues even though The Arc now calls Rose Hill Drive home.

Twice a month, participants from The Arc volunteer at our weekly Soup Kitchen, helping us serve more than 100 hot meals every Wednesday from 12:00–1:00 PM. This kind of service reflects what community inclusion can look like, shared responsibility, shared relationships, and shared care for our neighbors.

A big thank you to Maude, Julia, and Jacob for lending Jim a hand with the dishes this week. We’re grateful for our continued connection with The Arc and for the many ways our neighbors show up for one another. 🍛🍴💖

To celebrate the beginning of a new school year, First Pres youth gathered for an afternoon of tubing, paddleboarding, and laughter at the lake! We are so grateful for our amazing hosts and volunteers who made this event so successful. With over 25 people, we were able to make new friends, welcome new volunteers, and grow in community.

Youth Group events will continue every Sunday this fall, and we are excited to develop our faith over shared meals and more FUN!

Open House was a grand day at First Pres. ⛪ Thank you to everyone who participated in the life of the church, and to all who expressed interest in Bible studies, choir, helping with events, maintaining the grounds, and many other opportunities to serve and connect. As the smiles showed, the camaraderie was high, and the church was filled with joy and laughter.
