Knights of Columbus - Pirate Game Bus Trip!

The Knights of Columbus Council 9109 is sponsoring a fundraiser bus trip to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play the Cincinnati Reds in Pittsburgh on May 3rd! The chartered bus will depart The Alley Sports Bar at 10:00 a.m. Game time is 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $75.00 per person, and include a game ticket, and the round trip ride on the chartered bus. Water and snacks will be provided on the bus, the attendees can BYOB for the bus trip, and there will be 50 / 50 drawings. This is the second annual trip for the Knights to see the Pirates in action. The Mass schedule for Sunday, January 25 will be as usual at 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. Prayers for everyone’s safety, if you are unable to attend Mass due to the weather conditions, it’s okay, just know the Masses will still be offered as usual. God bless!


SPECIAL STATEMENT FROM BISHOP MARK

The National Weather Service has issued a severe winter weather warning for Central Pennsylvania. Severe winter weather is expected to occur Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26. Significant snowfall and high winds are expected. Public safety officials advise against unnecessary travel.
This storm will likely prevent attendance at Sunday Mass at their parish. Church law states that if participation in the Sunday Eucharistic celebration is impossible for a grave cause, Catholics are dispensed/excused from the obligation to participate at Sunday Mass in person. The expected severe weather conditions are a grave cause.
If the faithful are prevented from attending Sunday Mass in person, they should at least view the live Mass from St. John Gualbert Cathedral in Johnstown at 11:00 am. Other televised Masses may be found on EWTN, which usually televises Mass more than once per day. If a TV Mass is not available, the faithful are to spend some time for prayer and reading of Sacred Scripture at home.

Father Aron has blessed us all in ways big and small and we thank God that he was sent to us 10 years ago! Please join us after the 8:00am Mass on November 30th at the OLQA Activities Center to celebrate Father Aron and his 10 year anniversary with OLQA. Donuts, fruit and drinks will be served. All are welcome!
