Tonight we talked about feeling like belonging in our parish. When I returned home after being gone for 20 years I did not have a great feeling of belonging to my church. I heard about a need for someone to take over the CCD program and at first I thought I don’t know if I can do that and then I was told well if no one steps in then we will just not have CCD anymore. I knew how important CCD is and how important it is for children to have a relationship with God so they will always have God to bring their problems to and not feel alone. One day at coffee at church I heard the same conversation and I just said I will do it. Everyone was very surprised and I did not know what I was doing but I trusted God and I knew if he called me to it he would lead me through it! I am not perfect and I don’t know all the rules and I mess up plenty of times but I know that kids need love and they love to learn about God and have fun! I have a great team of teachers and Moms and this year has been such a blessing. I am so thankful for the friendships, the children I get to know better every week and the gift of strengthening my faith. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and make a difference in our church.
