In Luke 15, Jesus told a story about a son who took his inheritance, left home, and wasted it. When the son was hungry and alone, he decided to return and beg his father to be like a servant. But while the son was still far away, his father ran to welcome him home. God loves us so much that He seeks us when we’re far away and welcomes us into a forever relationship with Him through Jesus. Celebrate your kids in big ways this week and remind them: God seeks and celebrates us because we are valuable to Him.

Jesus showed that God made us with worth, as seen in this week’s Bible story from Matthew 19 and Mark 10. People were bringing their children to Jesus, hoping He would bless them. But when the disciples rebuked them, Jesus grew upset. He invited the children to come to Him, saying that the kingdom of God belongs to them. Kids can know that God made them with worth right here and now. Find times this week to tell your kids, “You are so loved and valued!” Do this at random times (not when your kids do something special) so kids know their value is not in what they do but who they are.
