LYRICS

From the oceans, through the valleys
From the mainland to the shore
Let Your Kingdom be awakened
In the hearts of men once more
Call Your children into freedom
Captive souls to liberty
Come awaken, Holy Spirit!
Come awaken us today!
Love unending, grace unyielding
Tender mercies from thy throne
Brings the lost soul into families
Calls the wayward sinner home
Bring salvation, Great Redeemer
Holy fire fan to flame
Come restore us, come revive us
Come awaken us today!
I will serve Thee, Precious Jesus
Unto Thee I give my all
Lay my hands unto thy service
And my heart unto thy call
Perish every fond ambition
Lay aside all selfish gain
All forsaken for thy glory
Come awaken us today!
Wake, O sleeper, from your slumber!
Saints awaken, come to life!
Christ will rise and shine upon you
In His heav'nly light divine
Like the sunrise in its dawning
Breaking darkness with new light
Rise upon us, King of glory
Come awaken us today!
For Your Kingdom, For Your Glory
Come awaken us today!

Eastertide Blessings to you all!

Subject: Bishop Wright's Easter Message 2026 // Alive!
Reply-To: Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta

Alive!
Jesus is alive! Thank God! That means God won’t be ignored, can’t be controlled, and refuses to be bought off. Jesus is alive, which means what we mock, betray, lock up, bury, and leave for dead—God can redeem. Jesus is alive, what we call futile, God calls fertile. Jesus is alive means God can make wonders out of what we, in our ignorance, waste and work against. Jesus is alive is a glimpse into reality itself: that love is stronger than death and faith is more potent than fear. Out of the worst we could do to someone, God has made resurrection, redemption, and reconciliation. Jesus is alive- means that God is real, able, good and generous- willing and ready to act in human history. And that makes a living Jesus very dangerous for the brutal, the selfish, and the indifferent, because love will not leave them unbothered. A living Jesus is dangerous because he helps the wounded walk and gives a purpose and courage to those the world tramples. Ultimately, Jesus alive is a steady-force, that ignites faith and releases a defiant, contagious strength and joy into the world. And so since Jesus is alive, we proclaim Resurrection as THE eternal truth. So we persevere in resisting evil. We refuse despair. We stand with the wounded, weary and abused. And we stand secure in the fact that love is overthrowing everything that is not love. Because Jesus is alive, death cannot have the last word. Alleluia. Christ is risen. Jesus is alive—and so are we.
