Thank you to all who helped clean up the enormous mess in the church gym and kitchen. Though dealing with vandalism is never fun and seeing food that is meant to help those in need strewn all over the kitchen and gym floors/walls is discouraging, it is VERY encouraging to see the church gather and help clean up in just a few hours what would have been an all-night cleaning project.

Thanks to those who brought brooms, shovels, mops, buckets, friends, and families to help with this! And a very special thanks to the Christian Life Church members and the men from Hope CDA who also came out to lend a hand! Connections were made this evening that will surely impact Cedar Rapids for the Kingdom of God. Anything Satan wants to use for evil, God can redeem it for the good of His children, His Church, and His Kingdom and for His glory!

Say "Why not?" instead of "Why me?"
Thought for the day: The enemy loves to feed us excuses. The Spirit loves to give us power to move anyway.

Verse: Ephesians 6:10; 1 Peter 5:8.​

Action: When you hear yourself thinking, “I don’t have time,” “That’s not my thing,” or “I’m too tired,” pause and ask, “Is this the arrow of comfort talking?” Then ask, “Why not me?” and take one small step toward serving.

Give Jesus preeminence
Thought for the day: Jesus bought the church with His own blood and is the head of this body. His preeminence means He gets to rearrange our schedules and our comfort level.

Action: Look at your calendar. Is there one block of time you can deliberately surrender for serving, discipling, or praying for others this week?

Live as the body
Thought for the day: In a healthy body, no part ignores the needs of the others. When the body is thirsty or hurting, every part responds; no one waits for a special sign to help.

Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:25–27.

Action: Identify one ministry you are not in but that you know is under strain (nursery, kids, Good News Club, Home Groups, etc.). Pray for it by name and send one encouragement text to someone serving there.
