Reminder:

Young at Heart this Wednesday!

Come join All Saints’ Church members for the Young at Heart Luncheon (Calla’s Luncheon) on Wednesday, May 20 at noon in the Social Hall. The speaker this month is from Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Come learn about this organization that is so vital to so many young people in Cedar Rapids.

Many of you have known Calla Blake as the person that prepared our luncheons for the last 3 and a half years. Calla was dedicated to seeing that we had good and special lunches each month. Calla passed away on April 25. Help us celebrate Calla and join us for a Meal and fellowship! All Saints members over 50 are welcome to come each month. There is no cost for lunch. Remember if school is cancelled, the YAH luncheon will also be cancelled.

All Saints Early Learning Center is officially Iowa Quality for Kids (IQ4K) certified!

By earning this certification, All Saints ELC is voluntarily participating in Iowa’s Quality Rating and Improvement System and has made an ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care and education for every child in our care.

Administered by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), this certification helps ensure our youngest disciples benefit from a strong foundation in quality early childhood education.

Reminder:

In the Archdiocese of Dubuque, the celebration of Ascension is transferred from Thursday to Sunday.

Our weekend Masses here at All Saints will be held on May 16 and 17 and will be Ascension Sunday.

For any in our All Saints community that may not yet know.

Some bittersweet news from All Saints today. After thoughtful discernment, Ms. Kelly Starr will conclude her service as Principal of All Saints Elementary at the end of the 2025-2026 school year as she begins a new chapter as Elementary Principal for the West Branch Community School District.

We are deeply grateful for Ms. Starr's leadership, faith-filled service, and dedication to our students, staff, and families. Over 17 years in education -- including the last nine years serving Catholic school communities in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids -- Ms. Starr has made a lasting impact on countless lives.

While we will miss her presence at All Saints, we fully support this transition as it allows Ms. Starr and her family to be closer to home and embrace this next chapter together. Please join us in thanking her for her commitment to All Saints and in wishing her and her family continued blessings and success.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to a thoughtful leadership transition that continues to advance the mission of All Saints Elementary. We will keep our families informed throughout the process.
