‘Whoever is Wise … Heed and Consider’’. This is our sermon title for Sunday morning. The last verse of Psalm 107 encourages you and I to be wise – and to heed and consider – the lovingkindness of the Lord.

The lovingkindness of God (Hebrew word: hesed) teaches us that our Lord has love that is faithful, steadfast, merciful, gracious – a love based in His mighty promises – His covenant! We must heed and consider that love of God, especially revealed in the Son of God, our Lord Jesus, paying for our sins and conquering death when He went to the cross and rose again. To not heed and consider God’s love has devastating and eternal consequences,

Psalm 107 teaches us all that when we are in distress – in times of great difficulty – we must ‘cry out to the Lord’! That’s the solution in hard times – cry out to Jesus! And when we humbly call on the Lord with a right heart, He promises to answer.

Psalm 107 then teaches us that when God does rescue us from difficulties, then we need to ‘give thanks to the Lord’! It is so good and right to thank God for His love and goodness!

Have you ever “cried out” to God? Have you ever been in such an impossible situation that you knew you must “cry out to the Lord”? Maybe you are in that very difficult time right now! Your right response to this hardship is to cry out to the Lord in prayer! Remember the Apostle Paul’s words: ‘Whoever will call on the Name of the Lord WILL be saved!’ (Romans 10:13)

This Sunday’s sermon is on Psalm 107:1-16, as we return to our ‘Journey Through the Psalms’. Four times in Psalm 107 we find this phrase: ‘Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses.’ These words provide each of us with a great example of how we are to live life, including in times of great hardship!

Paul’s letter to the Galatians is full of the most important truth – truth about our Lord Jesus’s friendship and forgiveness as well as how He empowers us to live a new life of freedom! These important truths are “Written Large” in the Book of Galatians!

GEN CHASE - FUNERAL/CELEBRATION OF LIFE

This will be held at 10 AM on Sunday morning, June 28th, at the Bena New Life Alliance Church.

Graveside service will follow after the 10 AM funeral service.

Note: the visitation and funeral service will ALL be on Sunday morning at 10 AM.
(NOT on Friday or Saturday evenings.)

The WLS group will depart for Illinois after completion of the services for Gen Chase.

PLEASE be in prayer for the Gen's family and friends, that they would know our 'God of all comfort' to very near to them at this time.
