Today's sermon. John 2. Jesus did not entrust Himself to man, because He knew what was in man.

And that, by itself, is not the greatest comfort. The greatest comfort is this: He knows what is in us—and He came for us anyway.

He knows our hearts, and He reaches for us anyway.
He knows our sin, and He loves us anyway.
He knows our bo***ge, and He comes to set us free anyway.

He throws open the chains that held us in Egypt. And when the final plague comes—when death itself passes through the land—death has no claim on those who are covered by the blood of the Lamb.

That is the gospel.

Jesus knows exactly what is in us. Nothing is hidden from Him. And knowing it all, He still came. He still loved. He still went to the cross.

He knew what was in man—and He gave Himself for man anyway.

Is anything getting between you and the life God desires for you—a life rightly ordered around worshiping Him? When Jesus entered the temple in Jerusalem, He found tables and commerce standing in the way of what that place was meant to be, and He overturned them. If Jesus is Lord, He has the right to walk through our lives and overturn the tables that get in the way. And because He is good, we can trust Him when He does. Sunday Sept 13th Sermon.
