In the Church, September 5 is the feast of Mary, Queen of the Apostles. This feast holds great significance for the Marianists. In 1818, at the conclusion of a retreat that Father Chaminade led, 7 men made their first public profession of vows to what is now the Society of Mary (Marianist brothers and priests). We celebrate all the Marianist brothers who have joined Mary in her mission to bring Christ to the world.

This week we hosted our annual Silent Retreat. Our retreat participants were invited to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and to encounter God in the silence.

Through reflection, prayer, Mass, and nature, our community felt God’s presence and love in our lives.

May each of us take some time this week to be silent and know that God is there in the midst of it all within us!

After a long summer of family retreats, the retreat center starts to look a little "crunchy." We are SO grateful for the volunteers who came in this week to make everything s**c and span. From painting to dusting to cleaning fans to bathrooms, these folks worked tirelessly to help us get ready for our fall retreat season! They are the hands and feet!

Sadly, our 2026 Summer Family Retreats have come to an end. It truly was a celebration of God's creation, all creatures great and small. Our hearts overflow with the love and the joy of our faith-filled families and volunteers. BUT there are a lot more opportunities to come to Mary's House. And with that, our 2026 summer program has come to an end! Week 8 ended was a perfect ending to a great summer! Thanks to all who joined us. We hope to see you at a retreat soon!

As we send forth our retreat families on Commissioning Day, we are reminded that discipleship is more than something we believe; it is something we live.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote, “He prayeth best, who loveth best all things both great and small.”

We are called to know, love, and serve God through our prayers, our love for one another, and the way we care for all of God’s creation.

We have been called. Now we are being sent. ❤️🙏

Friday is Commitment Day at Mary's House! 🙏 Families are invited to make commitments to create a faith-rooted Holy Habitat filled with good communication, shared forgiveness, and affirmed gifts. ✨

Unlike animals in a zoo, we don’t keep God's love to ourselves! 🦁🌍 We bring that spirit out into the world to help build a community where all people and creatures are embraced as evidence of God's love. 🐾❤️
