Living for an Audience of One

Who are you living to please? Already, In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus has painted a picture of a kingdom citizen and reminded His followers that genuine righteousness is about more than outward behavior. Genuine righteousness includes a transforming heart.
As we begin chapter 6 in our study of the book of Matthew, Jesus challenges His disciples to examine their motives. Surrendering to King Jesus means letting go of the need to be noticed, and choosing instead to live for an “Audience of One.” When we seek His kingdom and His will above our own recognition, we discover the freedom of a faith that is sincere, humble, and focused on bringing glory to God.

The Righteousness of the King

As we continue this week in Matthew chapter 5, Jesus is revealing the intent of the Law to His disciples. Jesus is calling His followers to a righteousness that exceeds external performance, a righteousness that comes from a transformed heart. For the believer, the King isn't simply changing our behavior, He is transforming our hearts. Jesus doesn't just want to be King of what we do. He wants to be King of who we are.

Happy Pastor Appreciation Day!!

We are extremely blessed by the pastoral leadership God has placed at CLCC! There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude for all that these men do. Their faithfulness to Gods calling on their lives has touched countless lives.

We also want to express our gratitude to their families. The calling into ministry is one that involves the entire family, especially their incredible wives! Your sacrifice, support and dedication to the Kingdom doesn’t go unnoticed.

May God continue to strengthen you, refresh your spirits, and bless you abundantly as you continue to serve Him and His people. We love and appreciate you more than words can express! 🙏🏽❤️

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15

Kingdom Living
What does surrender to King Jesus actually look like? Our study in the book of Matthew has included a recurring theme of surrender, but what does that actually mean in our lives?

In the Beatitudes, Jesus gives us a picture of what life looks like when we have surrendered to the King. As it turns out, the Beatitudes are not a checklist for earning God’s favor. The Beatitudes are evidence of a life transformed by God’s grace.

When we surrender to the King, He changes who we are, how others see us, and ultimately how they see Jesus through us.

Tempted? What Did Jesus Do? - 9/27/26

This week in our worship together we will be spending time learning important lessons, taught to us by Jesus, when He was tempted by Satan three times while in the wilderness. While it is impossible for us to know the magnitude of each temptation Jesus faced, we do know He remained faithful to His Heavenly Father and conquered Satan. Today, we too face temptations from Satan that are intended to fracture or destroy our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Today’s message will give us very important insight as to what is required for us to have victory over the temptation and the tempter.
