…This Sunday will be a meaningful and important moment in the life of our church. We will reflect on the 2024 General Conference decisions within The United Methodist Church to remove restrictive language and affirm the full participation and calling of LGBTQIA+ persons in the life of the church.
For many, this moment has been long-awaited. For all of us, it is a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks.
It is also an invitation—to continue growing as a community that seeks to embody Christ’s love more fully, more faithfully, and more expansively.
This, too, is part of what it means to live as Easter people...

…Wherever you find yourself, my prayer is not that we all interpret this moment the same way—but that we remain grounded. Grounded in a love that does not harden. Grounded in a faith that compels us toward justice, compassion, and truth. Grounded in hope that refuses to surrender to cynicism or fear.
Scripture reminds us that love is not passive. Love compels us to keep moving forward—to care for neighbors, to seek justice, and to remain tenderhearted even when the world feels loud or divided…

In Times Like These ⚠️ - Midweek Message
…The opening weeks of 2026 have felt heavy and unsettling. From one part of the globe to another, many matters have been deeply disturbing. In times like these, it can be difficult to imagine how we move forward. Moments such as these invite us first to pray and then to respond in good faith… I have faith in close proximity to times like these because I believe the following truths hold:
- Faith shows up when it is needed most.
- Hope shows up where it is least expected.
- Love shows up even when uninvited.
- Justice shows up where justice is denied…

A Word for This Moment 🙏 - Midweek Message
…The opening weeks of 2026 have been unsettling... we are living in a moment that calls us to moral clarity, attentiveness, and courage rooted in care for human life. These are not times for numbness, but for truth-telling grounded in dignity.
Moral erosion is rarely the result of a single event. Moral erosion happens one compromise, one discriminatory act, one falsehood shared, one prejudice projected, one distorted telling of history at a time. As shared this past Sunday, every ethnic cleansing campaign was legal at the time it was carried out. History is what finally tells the truth. Here is the line I want us to hold in this moment: The right side of history is never the one that violates human rights…
