This Labor Day, we give thanks to God for the opportunity to work and serve others through the gifts He has given us. Whether your work is seen by many or known only to a few, every task can become an act of worship when it is done for His glory.

Georgia law explicitly recognizes unborn children as natural persons.

Under Georgia’s LIFE Act, state law defines a natural person as “any human being including an unborn child.” It also defines an unborn child as a member of the human species at any stage of development while carried in the womb.

That legal recognition carries profound significance, but for Christians, the value of an unborn child does not begin with a government statute.

Scripture declares:

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13

Before an unborn child has a name, a birth certificate or legal recognition, that child is already known by God.

Human worth does not come from government.

It comes from the Creator who formed every human life in His image.

Before you close the day, place one hand over your heart and take a slow breath. You do not have to make your sorrow smaller before bringing it to God.

“Father, You are near to the brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit. Tonight, I bring You the grief I have tried to carry quietly: the ache, the tears, the questions, and the moments when I do not have the strength to explain what hurts. Teach me that lament is not a failure of faith. Help me come honestly, trusting that You can hold every feeling without turning away. Meet me in the places I cannot fix, and be my comfort when I have no words. Amen.”

Scripture: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” : Psalm 34:18

Reflective practice: Name the sorrow you have been trying to hurry past. Bring it to God in one honest sentence, then sit quietly and let yourself be held by His nearness.
