Join us for the 35th Annual Red Mass, presented by the Diocese of Austin and the St. Thomas More Society.

The Red Mass, celebrated by Bishop Daniel E. Garcia, will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Saint Mary Cathedral in Austin.

This longstanding tradition invites judges, attorneys, law professors, law students, public officials, and all members of the legal profession to gather in prayer and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the administration of justice and service to the common good.

Following Mass, all are invited to attend a ticketed dinner reception at 7 p.m. at the Austin Club, featuring keynote speaker The Honorable Leslie H. Southwick of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Lord of Life, You have given us the gift of water, source of fruitfulness, freshness, and hope. It quenches thirst, nourishes the earth, and heals wounds.

We thank You, because it is also a symbol of your grace and love that renews us through Baptism. Today we ask You to teach us to safeguard it with gratitude, justice, and responsibility.

Forgive us for turning it into a commodity, forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders, meant for all your children. We see with pain so many brothers and sisters who lack clean water, who walk for miles to find it, who become ill due to its scarcity.

May your Spirit make us pilgrims of the essential, able to live with simplicity, denouncing waste and pollution, defending the right of every brother and sister to drink without fear and without inequality.

May our care for water be a sign of love for the Creator and a commitment to the lives of the poor, educating new generations to value and protect the Earth’s resources. Amen.

The Power of a Mother's Prayer 🙏

Today is the feast day of St. Monica. She spent years praying for her son Augustine to come back to God. Years. She never gave up. She never stopped believing God was listening.

And He was. Augustine became one of the greatest saints and Doctors of the Church.

If you are praying for a child, a spouse, a friend who has walked away from the faith, do not stop. God hears every single prayer. St. Monica is proof.

St. Monica, pray for us!

Lectura del santo evangelio según san Mateo 24, 42-51
En aquel tiempo, dijo Jesús a sus discípulos:
«Estad en vela, porque no sabéis qué día vendrá vuestro Señor.
Comprended que si supiera el dueño de casa a qué hora de la noche viene e! ladrón, estaría en vela y no dejaría que abrieran un boquete en su casa.
Por eso, estad también vosotros preparados, porque a la hora que menos penséis viene el Hijo del hombre.
¿Quién es el criado fiel y prudente, a quien el señor encarga de dar a la servidumbre la comida a sus horas?
Bienaventurado ese criado, si el señor, al llegar, lo encuentra portándose así. En verdad os digo que le confiará la administración de todos sus bienes.
Pero si dijere aquel mal siervo para sus adentros: “Mi señor tarda en llegar”, y empieza a pegar a sus compañeros, y a comer y a beber con los borrachos, el día y la hora que menos se lo espera, llegará el amo y lo castigará con rigor y le hará compartir la suerte de los hipócritas.
Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes».

Join St. Monica's Parish in celebrating the Feast of St. Monica today, August 27. We will have a bilingual Mass in the church at 6 pm, followed by a meal in the Hall served by the Spirit Cookers. There is no charge for the meal.
Acompananos a celebrar la Fiesta de Santa Mónica hoy, 27 de agosto. Tendremos una Misa bilingüe en la iglesia a las 6 pm. seguida habra una comida en el Salón servida por los Spirit Cookers. No hay ningún costo por la comida.
