Today, we give thanks for the founding of our church, established 180 years ago on August 22, 1846, when a name was chosen and a constitution drawn up. The following day, on August 23, 1846, twenty-six individuals signed the charter roll and received Holy Communion.
On August 9, we joyfully marked this remarkable milestone with a special anniversary service presided over by Indiana-Kentucky Synod Bishop Timothy Graham. We extend our sincere appreciation to Bishop Tim and his wife, Meme, for being with us and sharing in this meaningful occasion.
The service and gathering were filled with joyful hearts, beautiful voices, uplifting worship, laughter, and the warmth of Christian fellowship. Nearly 100 people came together to honor St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and its history. We are deeply grateful to our neighboring churches, our community, and everyone who traveled to be with us. Your presence, prayers, and support made the occasion truly memorable.
