Preschoolers learned this week that their lives are special to God. In our Bible story from Judges 13–16, we saw that Samson’s life was special to God even though he made wrong choices. God made Samson special, and He cared about him. Preschoolers can know their lives are special to God too. Take time to pray with your preschoolers this week for specific people you can share Jesus with and remind that God made them special.

1-2-3!
Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Ask your preschoolers, “What is special about you?” Talk with your preschoolers about how their lives are special to God. Then remind them that God designed them to be special!

Family Discipleship!
"He made us, and we are his—his people, the sheep of his pasture.” (Psalm 100:3b)
Have you ever thought about God being your shepherd? It is comforting to be reminded that He made you, loves you, guides you, and takes care of you. He is a Good Shepherd, and your life is special to Him!

Elementary kids learned this week that their lives matter to God. In our Bible story from Judges 13–16, a man named Samson showed that he was special to God, even though he made wrong choices. God made Samson special, and He cared about him. Kids can know their lives matter to God too. Pray with your kids this week for specific people that you can share Jesus with. Remind them that God made them special.

1-2-3: This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: What is special about you? What do you think God would say is special about you?

Family Fun: “Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we are his.” (Psalm 100:3a)

When we trust and believe in God, we are His. Have you ever thought about how you belong to God? It is very comforting to remember that He made you, loves you, guides you, and takes care of you.

Preschoolers learned that their names are special to God. In 1 Samuel 3, God called Samuel’s name and gave him an important message. God made Samuel special from head to toe, and God made us special too! As you are out and about this week, talk about different people you know, say their names, and remind your preschoolers that their names are special to God.

1-2-3!
Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Ask your preschoolers, “What is your whole name?” Share with them why you chose their names and if they are named after anyone they know. Remind them that their names are special to God.

Family Fun!
Play a fun name game with your preschoolers! Sit together and take turns calling each other’s names in different, playful ways—whisper it, sing it, say it in a silly voice, or clap out the syllables. Talk about how it feels when someone says your name. Remind your preschoolers that God knows their names too! God made each of us special, and He loves us. Samuel listened when God called, and we can listen to God and follow Him.

Elementary kids learned this week that their names matter to God. In 1 Samuel 3, God called a young prophet named Samuel by name and gave him an important message. God uniquely designed Samuel, and God uniquely designed us too! As you are out and about this week, talk about different people you know, say their names, and remind your kids that their names matter to God.

1-2-3: This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Do you ever wonder if anyone cares about you? How can knowing that your name matters to God help when you feel that way?

Family Fun: Play a fun “Name Game” with your kids! Sit together and take turns calling each other’s names in different, playful ways—whisper it, sing it, say it in a silly voice, or clap out the syllables. Try to say your names backward! Talk about how it feels when someone says your name. Remind your kids that God knows their names too! God made each of us special, and He loves us.

This week was Hooray Day! On Hooray Days, we get to celebrate God in a special way. Preschoolers learned that God leads us to have faith. In Hebrews 11, we read about people who had faith despite many challenges. They trusted and believed God, and we can too. At mealtimes this week, celebrate different, good things God has done. Share that God helps us have faith through trusting, following, and celebrating Jesus.

1-2-3!
Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Allow your preschooler to put on a blindfold and talk about what she can and cannot see. Then remind her that, “Even though you cannot see, you can hear my voice and trust that I will take care of you. In a similar way, we can look to Jesus and have faith that He will always lead us to what is right and good.”

We had a special Game Changer session this week where we taught elementary kids that God leads us to have faith. Hebrews 11 features stories about many faith-filled men and women. While they faced difficulties and challenges, they clung to faith in God—meaning they trusted and believed God. As God led them to have faith, He leads us to have faith too. When we follow Jesus, we can trust and believe God and have a forever relationship with Him. Take a moment this week to talk with your kids about what it looks like for them to have faith and trust Jesus in daily life. Share that we can have faith that God helps us love and follow Him.

1-2-3: This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Who are good people that you can trust and follow? What is even better about trusting and following Jesus?

Sharing Jesus is exciting! In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit came and empowered Jesus’ disciples to share about Him with boldness—even speaking in different languages! Many people believed in and trusted Jesus that day. Preschoolers learned that sharing Jesus is exciting, and God can work through us in incredible ways! Take turns with your preschoolers saying, “Jesus loves you!” with excited voices and faces. Celebrate that we get to share Jesus with others and that sharing Jesus is exciting!

1-2-3!
Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Show your preschooler a piñata and ask, “What do you do with one of these, and why is it exciting?” Tell your preschooler that it is exciting to see the treats fall from a piñata. Mention that we can know the treats are for everyone. Sharing the good news about Jesus is also exciting because it is not just for us—it is for everyone!

Friday Prayer!
Take time today to pray as a family—talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:

1. Thank God that He wants us to be a part of His special plan to share Jesus with the world.
2. Ask God to help you remember that sharing Jesus is exciting.
3. Pray for a greater desire and excitement to share Jesus with others and look for opportunities to do so.
4. Choose one or two other people to pray for—that God would help you be bold and share Jesus with them and that they would listen and believe the truth.

This week’s Bible story came from Acts 2 and taught elementary kids that sharing Jesus is exciting. God sent the Holy Spirit to fill the first Christians, who then shared Jesus. God performed a miracle by helping the Christians share Jesus in different languages so everyone could understand. Thousands of people believed in Jesus that day. Kids learned that sharing Jesus is exciting because God works to change lives and welcome people into His family. Invite your kids to practice sharing Jesus with you, sharing in the excitement of their words and faith.

1-2-3: This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: How can talking about Jesus with your friends be a way of showing you care about them? What can happen when you share Jesus with your friends?

Family Fun: Take time today to pray as a family—talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:
Thank God that part of His plan to share Jesus with the world includes you.
Ask God to help share Jesus, which is important, exciting, and always worth it.
Pray for one another, asking God to help you share Jesus with others.
Choose one or two other people to pray for—that God would work through you to share Jesus with them and that they would want to trust and follow Jesus.
