Annual Conference 2026:
We had two ordinations and two transferred ordinations from our Thumb District Global Methodists at Great Lakes Annual Conference this week.

The Rev. Patty Olds, the pastor of Applegate Methodist Church and the Rev. Julia Cramer the pastor of Melvin Methodist Church and Cole Church were both ordained as deacons.

The Rev. Paul Webb, pastor or Marlette First Church and the Rev. Gary Bird, the Associate Pastor of Imlay City Amazing Grace Church both had their elders orders recognized and transferred into the GMC from the Wesleyan Church.

AS of now, Caseville Methodist has 3 people registered for the District Gathering on July 18, at Marlette, Michigan. That is two more than we had at the initial gathering last year, BUT there is still time to register. The Thumb District is growing! We now have 23 congregations of Global Methodists scattered throughout the Thumb Region. Pastor Steve encourages all Caseville Methodists to prayerfully consider attending this event. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the many folks that make up our fellowship, and be exposed to ideas about how we might collaborate together in fulfilling our calling. This event is for everyone. Let's do this!

Greetings!

On Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 6:30 pm (after dinner) there will be a gathering of the Michigan Thumb District for clergy, church representatives and spouses at the Kern Lodge in the Brown Room for light snacks and fellowship. This will be a great opportunity to catch-up or get to know some of the folks in our District. I will also be awarding GMC stoles to our Full Elders, Gary Bird and Paul Webb. Hope you can attend!

Please share this information with anyone attending AC from the District, as I may not have had everyone's email at that time of this announcement and don't want to miss anyone!
