Today we enter Holy Saturday, the day of stillness and waiting, as the Church keeps vigil at the Lord’s tomb. Here are 4 things to know:

1️⃣ No Mass is celebrated during the day: the Church remains in quiet expectation, awaiting the Resurrection.
2️⃣ A day of silence and reflection: the faithful are invited to prayer, contemplating Christ’s descent to the dead.
3️⃣ The altar remains bare: the tabernacle is empty, and the Church reflects the stillness of the tomb.
4️⃣ The liturgical color is absent until nightfall: only at the Easter Vigil does light break forth, and white returns in celebration of the Resurrection.

Today, the Church waits in hope, holding its breath between the sorrow of the Cross and the joy of Easter. 🕯️

I adore you, my God, placed on the cross for me! 🙏

On Good Friday, the whole Church joins in mourning and penance to commemorate the Passion and Death of the Lord. oday's passage is from the Gospel of John 18:1-19:42.

Here are 4 ways to live Good Friday united with Jesus:

Celebration of the Lord's Passion:
On the afternoon of Good Friday, the moments Jesus spent in the hours leading up to his ex*****on are commemorated through the reading of the Word, the Adoration of the Cross, and the Eucharistic Communion, consecrated the previous day, Holy Thursday.

Attend your parish and receive the Eucharist, which is only distributed in this liturgy. From today until the Easter Vigil, there are no sacraments, except for Confession and the Anointing of the Sick in case of necessity.

Participate in the Way of the Cross:
On this day, processions or similar public acts are held, generally presided over by the image of the suffering Christ and his Sorrowful Mother.

So meditate on the Passion and Death of the Lord and accompany the Lord in procession on his way to Calvary.

Seven Last Words' Sermon:
Listen to the "Seven Last Words Sermon" and reflect on the seven last phrases that Jesus uttered on the cross before giving his life for the salvation of humanity.

Fasting and abstinence:
Today the Catholic Church indicates practicing them to live in penance and prayer.
Remember that fasting is eating one main meal plus two small meals that together do not exceed the main meal in quantity; and abstinence means not eating meat and organs of mammals and poultry, nor soups and creams made from them.

Let us begin the Easter Triduum by asking the Lord for the grace to understand and live the profound mystery of His love and sacrifice. 🙏 ❤️

Holy Thursday is the "gateway" to the Easter Triduum, that is, it is the "beginning" of the most important period of Holy Week, where we commemorate the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord. Today's passage is from the Gospel of John 13: 1-15.

What do we remember on Holy Thursday?

1. The Last Supper: This is the day when Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with His apostles and instituted two sacraments for the salvation of humanity: the Eucharist and the Priesthood.

2. Washing of the feet: During the Mass, the priest washes the feet of 12 people in allusion to the 12 apostles at the Last Supper.

3. "A new commandment": On that day, Jesus washes the feet of the apostles, becoming a paradigm, model, and measure of love through service, and then tells them: "I give you a new commandment: that you love one another: as I have loved you, so you must love one another" (Jn 13, 35).

4. Visiting the 7 churches: From Holy Thursday to Good Friday, Catholics practice this devotion to accompany Jesus, present in the Tabernacles of the churches, on the night He was arrested.

In each Church, we thank Jesus Christ for the Eucharist and the priesthood, and we accompany Him in His sufferings from the Garden of Gethsemane to His burial.
