UNITED IN CHRIST, FIRM IN FAITH A Message for The Church of God Reformed
Receive greetings in the powerful name of Jesus.

It is a joy and a blessing to greet all of The Church of God Reformed, wishing that you and your families may enjoy good health and the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We know that we are currently going through times of conflict, struggles, and various trials. Nevertheless, we must remember that God does not abandon His people. His Word says:

“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”Isaiah 59:19

Although the enemy may rise up to discourage us, divide us, or make us turn back, the Lord remains at our side. Every trial can help us grow spiritually, strengthen our faith, and depend more fully on God. The Bible declares:

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”Philippians 1:6

This does not mean that God is the author of our difficulties, but rather that He can use every situation to shape our character, teach us perseverance, and draw us closer to His presence.

We also await in faith the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Rapture of His Church:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.”1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

While we wait for that day, we must remain awake, steadfast, and united. The enemy of our souls seeks to sow fear, discouragement, division, and confusion. Therefore, the Word exhorts us:

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith.”1 Peter 5:8–9

Jesus’ Prayer for Unity
The unity of the body of Christ is essential. Jesus Himself prayed for His disciples and for all those who would believe in Him:

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.”John 17:21

Unity does not mean that we all have the same personality or that we think exactly alike. It means that we remain united in Christ, in love, humility, forgiveness, and obedience to the Word of God.

When the Church walks in unity, it reflects the character of Jesus and becomes a living testimony to the world.

We Are the Body of Christ
The Church is the body of Christ, and every believer has an important place and function:

“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.”1 Corinthians 12:12

A body cannot grow if its members are divided or fighting against one another. Therefore, we must preserve unity, bear with one another in love, pray for one another, and help those who are weak or discouraged.

The Scripture tells us:

“Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”Ephesians 4:3

We are also called to gather together, encourage one another, and strengthen one another:

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another.”Hebrews 10:24–25

Therefore, we must not allow differences, offenses, or difficulties to destroy our fellowship. We must learn to forgive, restore, and walk together under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Christ Is the Head of the Church
Christ is the head of the Church. He is the One who leads it, sustains it, and brings about its growth:

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, maketh increase of the body.”Ephesians 4:15–16

When each member fulfills his or her role with love and faithfulness, the body grows and becomes stronger. The Church needs unity in order to experience spiritual growth, progress, and expansion.

We must not allow the enemy to destroy what Christ is building. Jesus declared:

“I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”Matthew 16:18

This is a promise of victory. The Church of God is not destined to live defeated, but to remain firm in Christ, sustained by the Word, and strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

A Firm and Victorious Church
The Church of God Reformed, let us remain united. Let us not give up, let us not turn back, and let us not allow the enemy to divide us. We must remain steadfast in prayer, holiness, brotherly love, and the hope of our Lord’s return.

Our victory does not depend on our own strength, but on Christ, who loved us and sustains us:

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”Romans 8:37

May the Lord heal every wound, restore every broken relationship, strengthen those who are weak, and renew the hope of His people.

May we walk as one body, under the authority of Christ, guided by His Word and filled with the love of the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion
Brothers and sisters, let us remain united in Christ and firm in faith. The enemy may rise up, but God will lift up a banner before us. Trials may come, but the Lord will give us strength to overcome them. We may go through struggles, but we will never be alone, because Christ promised to be with us every day.

“And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”Matthew 28:20

Therefore, as The Church of God Reformed, let us lift our voices and declare in faith

GOD NEVER LOST CONTROL OF HIS CHURCH

Matthew 16:18

“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Introduction

From the beginning, we can see that when God establishes something with a purpose, no event on earth can prevent that purpose from ultimately being fulfilled.

Let us think about Noah.

God called Noah to build an ark in the midst of a generation that had turned away from God. Noah built according to the design God had given him. Then the waters came, the judgment covered the earth, and the ark was completely surrounded by the waters.

But there is something we must understand:

The waters could cover the ark, but they could not destroy the purpose for which God had built it.

God was in control.

The ark was not sailing toward an unknown destination. God had designed it, God had given the instructions, and God Himself would guide it to the place He had determined.

And this teaches us something about the Church.

The Church may go through deep waters. It may go through persecution, opposition, human error, periods of darkness, and even moments when the truth seems to be hidden. But God never loses control of what He Himself established.

1. THE WATERS MAY COVER THE ARK, BUT THEY CANNOT CHANGE ITS PURPOSE

Genesis 6:14 says:

“Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.”

God gave Noah a design.

Noah did not build the ark according to his own imagination. He built according to the design God had given him.

And when the waters came, the ark was completely surrounded by them.

But the waters did not determine the destiny of the ark.

God’s design determined its destiny.

In the same way, when we look at the history of the Church, we find periods in which false teachings began to cover the truth.

In the year 325 A.D., with the Council of Nicaea, a decisive moment took place in the history of Christianity. As the centuries passed, human teachings and traditions increasingly took a greater place.

But even though the truth may have appeared to be covered, God had not lost control.

2. GOD MAY ALLOW A TIME OF DARKNESS, BUT HE DOES NOT ABANDON HIS PURPOSE

There is a powerful passage in Isaiah 54:7–8:

“For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you.
With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you.”

There are seasons when it seems that God is silent.

There are moments when it seems that the truth is hidden.

There are generations that may pass without clearly seeing what God had established.

But the silence of God does not mean that God has lost control.

God’s apparent delay does not mean God’s abandonment.

God continues working even when we cannot see what He is doing.

1,578 years passed from that historical period associated with the year 325 until the year 1903.

One thousand five hundred seventy-eight years.

But time could not destroy God’s purpose.

Because when God determines that something should come back into the light, no period of darkness can prevent it.

3. IN 1903, THE DIVINE BLUEPRINTS WERE UNROLLED AGAIN

In the year 1903, according to this historical understanding, those blueprints that seemed to have been hidden were once again placed before hearts that were hungry and thirsty for the truth.

And here we find a very important spiritual principle.

God is not merely looking for curious people.

God is looking for hungry hearts.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:6:

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”

Spiritual hunger causes a person to keep searching when others have stopped searching.

Thirst for truth makes a person say:

“Lord, I do not want merely what I have been taught. I want to know Your truth.”

And when there is a heart willing to sincerely seek, God can once again open what seemed to have been hidden.

4. THE CHURCH DOES NOT BELONG TO ANY MAN

This is one of the most important points.

The Church belongs to God.

It is not the property of one man.

It is not the property of one group.

It is not the property of one organization.

It does not belong to any particular generation.

Christ said:

“I will build My church.”

He did not say, “They will build My church.”

He said:

“I will build My church.”

He is the owner.

He is the foundation.

He is the Head.

And the purpose belongs to Christ.

Ephesians 5:23 says:

“Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.”

Therefore, we must be very careful not to place man in the position that belongs only to God.

Because when a church stops seeking God’s direction and begins depending exclusively on men, it can begin to lose sight of its original purpose.

5. HUNGER AND THIRST FOR THE TRUTH MUST REMAIN

History can change.

Men can change.

Generations can change.

But God’s truth remains.

Therefore, there is something we must preserve within us:

hunger and thirst for the Word of God.

We must not simply settle for what we hear.

We must examine.

We must seek.

We must pray.

We must study.

We must say:

“Lord, if something does not come from You, show me. And if something comes from You, give me the humility to receive it.”

Acts 17:11 speaks of the people of Berea, saying:

“These were more noble… in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”

That should be our spirit.

We do not defend an idea because it belongs to a man; we seek the truth because it belongs to God.

6. THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL

And we come once again to the promise of Jesus:

Matthew 16:18:

“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

This is our security.

The Church may go through waters.

It may go through storms.

It may go through persecution.

It may go through moments of confusion.

It may go through periods in which the truth seems to be covered.

But it will not be destroyed.

Why?

Because its existence does not depend on the strength of man.

It depends on Christ.

The same Christ who said:

“I will build My church”

is the Christ who said:

“The gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Conclusion

From the days of Noah until today, we find the same principle:

God never loses control.

The ark was built according to the divine design.

The waters came.

The waters covered the earth.

But the ark fulfilled its purpose.

In the same way, there may be moments when the truth seems to be covered by the waters of human teachings.

There may be periods of darkness.

There may be generations that do not see clearly.

But God does not abandon His purpose.

And when the moment determined by Him arrives, that which was hidden can come back into the light.

Therefore, our responsibility is not to defend a man.

It is not to defend a name.

It is not to defend an organization.

Our responsibility is to remain hungry and thirsty for the truth of God.

Because the Church belongs to God.

The design belongs to God.

The purpose belongs to God.

And the destiny is in God’s hands.

And as long as we continue seeking His truth with a sincere heart, we can trust the promise that Jesus Christ gave:

“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

The waters may rise.

The storms may come.

Men may fail.

Generations may pass.

But one thing will remain forever:
